Further detailed regulations are available from the Secretary (refer contact details on front page. The UHS Committee reserves the right to make alterations to the program of events if necessary. Disputes Consists of Ringmaster, Assistant Ringmaster and main Steward of section involved. Disputes to be lodged in writing (within 30 minutes of the Committee: event happening) to the Secretary and accompanied by a $50 deposit which may be liable to forfeiture. Outside assistance to competitors by word, radio or any other method in Horse Ring Events will NOT be permitted. If in breach of this ruling, competitors and their exhibits may be dismissed from the event and the Showground. Competitors names will be submitted to Agricultural Societies Council (ASC) NSW. Drug testing may be carried out at this Show on both horses and competitors. Any competitor/exhibitor who presents and tests positive to a Improper Behaviour: prohibited substance will be subject to investigation by the ASC Disciplinary Committee. Any penalty imposed as a result of the infringement will be fully supported by this society. Any competitor/exhibitor found to have breached the ASC Disputes and Disciplinary Regulations will be investigated by the ASC Disiplinary Committee. ADULT A person who has attained their 18th birthday YOUTH A person who has not attained their 18th birthday - the age of the child determined on the first day of the Show Riders & Ponies/Horses must reside in the Muswellbrook Shire, or part of the Upper Hunter Shire which is East of DISTRICT Halls Creek at Gungal, for a period of not less than 3 months prior to the Show Definitions: A Newcomer PONY/HORSE is one that has not been shown under saddle (racing excepted) prior to 31st January NEWCOMER in its first year of being shown. Once shown under saddle, such pony/horse ceases to be a Newcomer on 31st December that same year. All ponues/horses in Newcomer classes shall be shown in a snaffle bit NOVICE Horses and riders who have not won a 1st prize or similar at any agricultural, breed or recognised show INTERMEDIATE Horses that have not been placed in a solo event at a Royal Show or equivalent All exhibitors/competitors in horse ring events and spectators wishing to enter the ring area must sign Indemnity Forms and NSW DPI Record of Attendance at Horse Events Forms at post entry box. Forms must be filled out and signed to receive wristbands prior to entering the ring area. Wristbands must be worn at all times. Property Identification Codes (PIC) are required for anyone who keeps horses in NSW for the land on which the horses are kept Even if you Conditions of Entry: only have one horse, you still need a PIC. Please ensure this information is included on the waiver form. It is distinctly understood that each competitor competes at their own risk. The UHS uses plastic tokens for entries which can be re-used at the next UHS or may be refunded. Friday & Saturday - $3.00 per class, unless stated otherwise NOTE: Pre entries for all horse events Class Entry Fees: Sunday - $4.00 per class, unless otherwise stated except rodeo Prize money will be awarded for 1st Place only unless otherwise stated (UOS) in Friday/Saturday classes. No 1st place prize money will be awarded on Sunday, except for nominated classes. Ribbons will be awarded in each class to the discretion of the judge. Champion & Reserve ribbons will be awarded when 3 or more horses are entered in any section (this rule is not applicable if sponsorship has been received). In st Ribbons/ awarding Champion, UOS, 1 place winners in each applicable class are elibile to compete. In awarding Reserve Champion, UOS, the 1st nd Prize money: place winner in applicable classes are eligible to compete other than the Champion, together with the 2 place winner from the class or classes from which the Champion was drawn. Prize money/vouchers/trophies will typically be presented on the ring, otherwise they can be collected from the Secretary's office afterwards. Money/vouchers/trophies not collected within 4 weeks following the show will be forfieted. The judge need not award prizes/ribbons for exhibits/competitors in any class which does not in their opnion possess sufficient merit. Age is from August 1 - Foals born before August 1 in the year shall be deemed to be 1 year old on that date. Fillies/Colts are under 4 Years. Horses/Ponies are subject to be measured according to the discretion of the Judges. Ring Stewards have the authority to have a horse in dispute measured. Show Hunter Ponies/Horses may NOT compete in Show Hack Classes. Competitors must decide which classes they wish to compete in and understand they cannot compete in both Show Hunter and Hack Classes on the same horse/pony. Breed Classes - all horses/ponies must be registered or foal recorded with the relevant society/association and owned by current financial Horses/Ponies: members. Proof of registration/membership must be produced if requested by Stewards. Standardbreds & Thoroughbreds without freezebands need proof of registration. Off The Track (OTT) Series Class is conducted as per NSW/ACT OTT Series rules. Stallions/Colts are not eligible to compete in classes other than those specifically provided for. No stallions/colts to be handled or ridden by Juniors (Under 17 Years). Stallions/Colts must wear a bridle with bit when in the ring and double tied when not being shown. The handler/rider of any horse deemed by the Show Committee to not be under effective control will be asked to remove the horse from the showground. Competitors in ring events are requested to be correctly attired and have horses ready to enter marshalling areas as and when directed by the Stewards. Any competitor disregarding directions/requests of Stewards will not be permitted to compete in the event about to take place. Competitors: All Junior Competitors while riding or handling a horse/pony at the Muswellbrook Showground must wear helmets that conform to Australian Standard AS/NZS 3838. All Adult Competitors are encourgaged to wear safety helments when competing. Any handler/rider acting in an offensive manner will be asked to leave the showground. All competitors/exhibitors in events on Saturday are invited to participate in the GRAND PARADE to help make it a great spectacle for everyone Grand Parade: attending the UHS and to support their chosen discipline and association.
