State Street Redlands, CA 92374 Basics Embroidery Club Supply List Embroidered Jeans Working With Templates This month we will focus on pre-printing templates or using the templates in your design collection as placement tools for the leg of your jeans. Anita Goodesign Asian Fusion, Posh-abilities, or Designer Roses are great collections to use. These design collections have tutorials with templates ready to be printed on their cd-rom. If you select designs from other sources, you may need some type of embroidery software to read the design and allow you to create printed templates. The path to follow on your computer is as follows: With the design of your choice open in the soft- ware go to file>print preview>options>print templates>on that page select to print the embroidery with start/end cross-hairs, and check 100% (not fit to page). SUPPLIES Embroidery Machine, Cleaned, oiled, ready to embroider with Large Hoop, or Mega Hoop, and Template Embroidery Presser Foot Needles: Schmetz or Organ Embroidery or Jeans Needles size 80/12 or 90/14 Threads: Embroidery Threads for the designs chosen, think about changing the threads colors to suit your taste, how would you do that? Bobbins wound with 50 wt. bobbin thread in neutral or jeans fabric color. One Pair of Jeans—It is much easier to work with jeans that do not have a flat-felled seam for the inseam or inner leg seams, it is also easiest to open the entire seam from hem to hem. 2. 1/4 yd. polyester organza ( if you want to stitch out additional designs to appliqué onto your jeans). Optional—EZ Glitz tool and heat set stones Stabilizers: For Templates—Floriani Template Tearaway For Hoop—OESD Aqua Mesh Plus & Polymesh Cut Away Stabilizer (we need sticky water soluble stabilizer to “hold” our jeans on the hoop) and Polymesh to stabilize design after washing.
