A new furnace was installed in January 2018. This historical building has a rich history. It was constructed in 1910 as the Bank of Commerce. It housed the Post Office from 1934 to 1961 and has been used as a library since. The building was designated as a Municipal Heritage Property in 1982 and added to the Canadian Register of Historic Places in 2006. The Bid will involve keeping the status of the Historical building and follow all guidelines of historical property by the Municipality, the Province and the Federal Government. Because of the building’s heritage designation, owners could apply for grant funding to conserve the heritage value of a building to ensure its retention over time.
