The best start in history was in 1981 MWSU defeated NSU 33-13 when they opened up 7-0. Last Meeting: October 5, 2012 - at NSU • MWSU and NSU played two out of three contests in Tahlequah and two #6 MWSU won 45-31 of the three as non-conference games when Northeastern State was part of the Lone Star Conference. The only game in St. Joseph was the first meet- ing between the two schools. • Currently the Griffons have won eight straight MIAA games dating back to the 2012 season...they won 12 straight ending the 2011 season and opening up the 2012 season 5-0 in MIAA play. The won seven straight MIAA Missouri Western 5-0, 4-0 MIAA game ending the 2011 season which is the most in a row in a season. They have won 19 of their last 20 MIAA Ranking: 6 - AFCA, 6 - D2FB games. MIAA Record 97-49 • The Griffon offense has been lighting up the scroeboard as of late averaging 47 points per game which is second Record vs. NSU: 3-0 in the MIAA behind Pittsburg State’s 51.2. The Griffons are averaging 443.4 total yards and 249.8 yards on the ground. The Griffons lead the league in kickoff return average at 29.8 and second in punt return average at 15.9. 0-5, 0-5 MIAA • Individually punter Scott Groner is second in the MIAA with a 43.3 yards per punt average. Last Game: October 5, 2013, in • Missouri Western is coming off their best season in school history where they posted a 12-2 record which Tahlequah, Okla. They followed that up by winning their first ever road playoff game by a score of 45-21 NSU Record 20-40 (6th season) against #6 Henderson State on November 24, 2012 in Arkadelphia, Ark. Record vs. MWSU: 0-1 • The 12 victories was the most in a season and was the seventh time in the last 10 years that they had at least victories in a season.
