The Accent GL captured the top value spot in surpassing the Toyota Echo and Kia Sephia. The 2000 Accent GL registers high among consumers as the best value in its segment because of such features as standard stereo cassette sound system, three point front seat belts, second­generation driver and passenger airbags, front disc brakes and fuel­efficient 1.5 liter SOHC engine. An additional value, the new Accent comes “equipped” with The Hyundai Advantage, America’s Best Warranty. The Hyundai Advantage includes limited bumper­to­bumper coverage for five years or 60,000 miles, powertrain coverage for 10 years or 100,000 and unlimited roadside assistance for 5 years, which exceeds the coverage on some cars costing over twice as much. The Auto Club’s Target Car Report is issued annually and ranks seven categories of cars and trucks by what consumers say they want in a vehicle. “The Target Car program is designed not only to help consumers select the best vehicle for them, but to keep government and the automotive industry moving toward better and safer cars”, said Steve Mazor, principle automotive engineer for the Auto Club.
