JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT'S OFFICE To 1,)/2. - 189 The person to whom this paper is addressed is requested to return it to the President's office, with such comment as may be required. Herewith: 10-e, NP-C.. J £r7. 03,* CCO THE GROLIER CLUB. New-York, April 30, 1895. HE Committee on Publications takes pleasure in announcing the early issue of"A Description of the Early Printed Books owned by the Grolier Club, with a Brief Account of their Printers and the History of Typography in the Fifteenth Century." This edition will contain all the matter printed in the small catalogue made for the exhibition of the Bruce Collection, with the addition of photo- engraved facsimiles of the several passages in these books that contain notices of the invention of typog- raphy. New translations of all these passages have been made specially for this edition by Dr. McCrea, of Columbia College. It is believed that this pub- lication, which contains more of these facsimiles di _ than have ever appeared in any one book, will be of special interest to every student of typography, and will be a book of distinction in any collection. It is offered to the members as the first part of a general description of the club's library. The size of leaf, untrimmed, will be 77 x 1 1 inches; the paper, the same as that selected for the "Colonial Laws"; the binding, half-calf, with paper sides. The regular edition will be four hundred copies; the price, five dollars per copy. Three copies on vellum will be printed; one for the library of the club; two to be sold to members as the council may hereafter direct. The book will be issued early in June. Mem- bers may subscribe for one copy, and make applica- tion for an additional copy on the blank inclosed. Applications for additional copies will be filed and filled in the order of receipt until the edition is ex- hausted. No subscription will be received unless accompanied by the price. Subscription for a first copy closes on May 30. Checks should be drawn to the order of E. H. Bierstadt, treasurer, and sent with subscription to Mr. J. L. Morton, the curator of the club, 29 East 32d St., who will send a proper receipt, and for- ward the book to subscribers as they may direct, free of expense. i - *ot\I DumsDrA .oal env)ms' autpapat_2;ououotuyalletajotupwaa oupprn, botugamtu LUQ ouuy quag§tuall Azcapocejr.uxt a:nartumsa autinct utia tlqajna pr 39 auomnia pup roaibiqv tpur4taputo naj puma .11.1Ch143031431111WV prnb ejouguoV1 =rtti*I'ibp.tiptiipasuajcl, ails° ru eiteuza MO=•tuputit3 dvual•autni!tualhu pie t:3 rue wap la4 vlbszaptuaZ8 iiTEDru ;t4 •eupOow xviktu rtuiroumbr a am 4zszp pi p4ujp.trnb endo 3cci 120123.101 Mkt(ale tyfttm Atrifen istipernbvegiertv be 4tyligen 2C4mi(d)cir 2Cci.4o)3634*am4ole pail t)ienot bey gitid)en/Dalerius Map:anus fed;? ,,iflotitnivon merdlidx;gercbid)tenvn fpzficben/bcm Agyfer bet /rnto plinias fein tverct Don ber nattirlid)en (liffoicit Zito Vo fpaliano 3ugef4)tieben mob acfcbicEt kabett. eold) wad alter mecbo tigiter 1C6nig(baspluot an averic6nigli4)e Maieffat 3ft *en/barsti Siirffen rub(Nrin/aud) Temeynben rub enact* teutid)er nation/ 30 nfity torrid) biad)tirnb innbet16blidyo fiat Mcynt3 gefertigt/ vnb goal& ill) tv611ewer 26.May. .guebiglicl) auffneintn: 3nn wets lid,ex flan and)anfengflicb bie wunbetbatlicbe Aunfi bet trucEerty/ *'nub ini =firs ven ben fiinfireidyn 30amn thuttenbergibo man salt nact) Cbziffi rulers? ,3tungeburt taufent vierbunbettrnnb ffinffisig. lar trfunben/rnb barnacb mit fleifitott arbeyt jobann Soo flen vn Peter E3cb6iftte se MI/1m ills tract gebtad)t/rub bittienbig ganadft iff wozben aumb bie felbe fiat sicbt alleyn bei rcutfdyr natiOit/ fonber and)bet miter welt itm gwiet mit( ate tvol rabiosd) gepnift rnnb gdobt (oft west's I vtsb bie Zurga mit einwonet boicibil boo billid) ftrfonorie . imile No - 1FOCA Gh1.1i z LIAES RiSIS -g AtESVE AVEla ' PALSI AVI GE IAit 1.
