As I watch my kids continue to grow I get excited to think of where I’ve been and where our program is headed in the future. Tierra is working full time for Ranch House Designs as a Seedstock Account Manager, Cheyenne is in her first year of nursing school at Walla Walla Community College and Cody is a Junior at Touchet High School. The kids are always busy and I’m just trying to play “Mr. Mom” and keep up with them along with the cattle! You can come to Kessler Angus knowing that we’ve spent 54 years breeding the kind of cattle that have kept us in business - concentrating on traits such as calving ease, disposition, mothering ability, reproduction, milk and carcass values. The bulls marked as calving ease in the sale book are up to three generations proven as such. While some of the other bulls might meet typical calving ease EPD requirements in many operations, we have always been strict on requirements to be considered truly calving ease. These bulls were sorted and penned here at the ranch at weaning time and have remained in those assignments until sale day. The bulls are hand fed twice a day, receiving long hay and a minimal amount of grain. They are fed to be grown out and not fat, ready to go to work at turnout. These bulls have passed semen tests, and ultrasound data will be available on sale day. Our herd has consistently tested BVD free in the past; however, these bulls have not been individually tested. As we have not brought an outside female or bull into the herd in the past few years, we do not foresee an issue with the disease coming in. If you would like your bull tested, we would be happy to have it done for you. We offer free wintering until April 1 and free delivery within 400 miles. All of our delivery routes are planned out based on the area you’re from and we will work with you to get your bull to your ranch or as close to it as possible. You can also pick your bulls up on sale day or within the week and get $100 taken off the sale price. We are always available to discuss your breeding program or ours. The bulls are available to look at any time, so if you prefer to take your time and study the numbers and the bulls, feel free to come and spend some time out in the pens. If you would like help with your bull selections or can’t make it to the sale, we can make those selections with or for you with our personal guarantee if you don’t like the bulls when you get them, you don’t own them.
