Objectives and Programme Specific outcome of syllabus of Marathi Literature 2019-20 Sr. Class Sem. Paper Objectives Derived Outcome No. 1 FYBA 1 1 To introduce Students learnt characteristics of Drama as literary Drama, Concepts of Tragedy and genre Comedy , History of Marathi Drama and two contemporary plays in Marathi. 2 FYBA 2 1 To introduce Students learnt difference between Travelogue as Travel itinerary and Travelogue. literary genre Characteristics of Travelogue with emphasis on different cultural and political backgrounds of different countries were understood by the students. They enjoyed reading and understanding travelogues based on the experiences of travelling in neighboring countries like Pakistan and Shrilanka. 3 SYBA 3 2 To introduce Novel Students learnt to differentiate as literary genre between Drama and Novel. Characteristics of Novel as narrative literature was understood by students. Information of milestones in History of Marathi Novel helped students to understand changing forms and content of Marathi novels. Two contemporary novels in Marathi were learnt and critically evaluated by students. 4 SYBA 3 3 To introduce basics Students learnt that language is a of sociolinguistics. tool to communicate and it is a system of signs. They understood the importance of language with reference to the theory of Roman Yakobson and Hokett. How different institutes in culture give birth to different words was learnt by students with examples They were also informed about the effects of globalization on languages. 5 SYBA 4 2 Introduction of Difference between Novel and Autobiography as Autobiography was understood by literary genre. students. They also got to know about history of Autobiographies in Marathi . Difference in Autobiography by famous persons and downtrodden people was understood by students. They also learnt two different texts as representation . 5 SYBA 4 3 Introduction of Difference between standard Malwani dialect language and dialect was and literature understood by the students. They enjoyed learning Malwani dialect ,its grammar, cultural background, folk lore, proverbs etc. Learning Contemporary Malwani poems and drama was more interesting for students. 6 TYBA 5 4 Introduction of Learning begin with History of Medieval Marathi Maharashtra ,cultural background literature of Marathi literature in Medieval age , spiritual cults in Maharashtra, literature by saints and pundits. 7 TYBA 5 5 Theory of Concept of poetics was learnt as literature(Indian) introduction .’Kavya lakshan’, ‘Kavya Prayojan’, ‘Kavya Aswad’’Shabdshakti’,’Kavyakaran’ were the terms and concepts learnt by students. 8 TYBA 5 6 Society and Concept of society, culture and literature relation of the society and literature were understood with references of theories by Tein and Karl Marx. Students were happy to learn feminism and a contemporary novel by feminist writer. They also learnt different sensitivity of writers in metro cities. Poems expressing urban sensitivity were learnt by students. Students also reviewed books with feminist/urban approach as their project work. 9 TYBA 5 7 Historic and Students learnt about Phonology, descriptive Phoneme, Morpheme, Semantics. linguistics 10 TYBA 5 8 Modern Prose Students learnt about modern, modernity and modernism. They enjoyed reading and understanding modern short stories and novel. 11 TYBA 5 9 Theory of Students learnt different concepts Translation and of translations like Anuvad, comprehension Rupantar and Arvachinikaran. Cultural, stylistic and lingual barriers in literary translation were understood by students. Students practiced the different types of translations. 12 TYBA 6 4 Introduction of Students got know about different Medieval Marathi trends in prose and poetry like literature Lawani, Bhakhar in medieval literature. 13 TYBA 6 5 Theory of Students learnt literary theories in literature(Western) western poetics i.e. Mimesis/imitation ,concepts of mental images, metamorphosis and symbolism in poetic language, concept of committed literature ,Theory of equilibrium of impulses, 14 TYBA 6 6 Society and Students learnt the effects of Literature changing social environment on Marathi Literature. They understood the social movements and ideologies in Maharashtra and reflection of these in Marathi Literature. They also studied Dalit and Gramin literature in Marathi with reference to two prescribed texts. 15 TYBA 6 7 Marathi Grammar Students learnt Phonemes in Marathi language with their proper pronunciation. They understood types of words and types of formation of words in Marathi. They also learnt the case system in Marathi and formation of sentences. 16 TYBA 6 8 Modern Poetry and Students learnt modern trends of Drama Drama in Marathi Theater as well as in Marathi Poetry with reference two textbooks. 17 TYBA 6 9 Interview Skills Students learnt interview skills ,book review and ,they also practiced the skill by literary essay taking interviews of prominent as well as common personalities. They also reviewed books as their project work. 18 FYBA 1and Comp. Communication Comprehension, reading, writing, 2 skills speaking skills in Marathi language is learnt with practice. .
