Before Installing SPSS 25 for Macintosh, It Is Recommended You Uninstall Any Previous Versions

NOTE: Instructions found on this page are intended for Grady College Faculty and Staff only. Others should check with their own IT support for availability of this product Before installing SPSS 25 for Macintosh, it is recommended you uninstall any previous versions. Grady College will only be receiving license codes for SPSS 25 in 2018. Uninstall SPSS for Mac 1. Double-click the Macintosh Hard Disk icon to open. 2. Double-click the Applications folder. 3. Double-click the IBM folder. 4. Double-click the SPSS folder. 5. Double-click the Statistics folder. 6. Drag any folders from previous versions to the Macintosh Trash Can and Empty the Trash. Installing SPSS 25 for Mac 1. From the http://www.grady.uga.edu/its web page, click the link to download a zipped file of SPSS for Mac. The downloaded zip filename is SPSSMAC.zip. 2. Open the downloads folder and click the SPSSMAC.zip file to unzip the file which contains a disk image file named, SPSS_Statistics_25_mac.dmg. 3. Double-click the SPSS_Statistics_25_mac.dmg file to mount the image. A window, titled SPSSStatistics will open with the SPSS_Statistics_Installer file in it. 4. Double-Click the installer file to start the install process. You may receive a warning indicating that the file is an application downloaded from the Internet. Click Open to start the installation process. 5. You will be prompted for your Macintosh password. Type the password or leave the field blank if you do not have a password on your system and click the OK button. 6. The install process wizard will begin. Click the OK button to continue the installation. 7. An Introduction message will be displayed, click the Next button. 8. The Software License Agreement will be displayed. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click the Next button. 9. On the IBM SPSS Statistics-Essentials for Python screen, select No (unless you want this option) and click the Next button. (Most would not need this option) 10. Click the Next button on the Where Would You Like to Install screen. (Note: The program will automatically be installed in /Applications/IBM) 11. Click the Install button to continue the installation process. 12. A message will be displayed indicating IBM SPSS Statistics 25 has been successfully installed. 13. Note, the Start IBM SPSS Statistics 25 now option is selected, click the Done button. 14. The IBM SPSS 25 Licensing Authorization wizard will launch (NOTE: You may see an error that the software has not been optimized for your OS, simply click OK) 15. Click the Next button. 16. In the Product Authorization dialog box, select Authorized user license and click Next. (Note: Your computer must have an Internet connection for the licensing process to complete successfully.) 17. Type or paste the licensing code supplied to you via e-mail and click the Next button. 18. A message will be displayed indicating Successfully processed all codes, click Next 19. Double-click the Applications folder. 3. Double-click the IBM folder. 4. Double-click the SPSS folder. 5. Double-click the Statistics folder. 6. Double-click the 25 folder. 7. Locate the SPSSStatistics application icon, point to it and drag it to the Macintosh Dock. .
