Republic of the Philippines Philippine Statistics Authority Laguna SPECIAL RELEASE VITAL STATISTICS REPORT: JANUARY 2020 Marriages in Laguna (Preliminary Results) Date of Release: 19 March 2020 Reference No. 2020-002 This report presents statistics on marriages that were registered in Laguna for the month of January, year 2020. The data presented herein were obtained from the documents submitted by the Local Civil Registrars to the PSA Provincial Office and then processed thru DVSS2K system. Caution must be employed in interpreting the data since the figures were not adjusted in consideration of under registration. MARRIAGE STATISTICS Figure 1. Number of Registered Marriages by There were 1,324 recorded marriages for City/Municipality in Laguna: January 2020 the month of January 2020. It decreased by 77.5 percent from 5,882 marriages in Alaminos 37 January 2019. On the average, 42 Bay 40 City of Biñan 103 marriages a day occurred in January City of Cabuyao 79 2020. On the other hand, Magdalena 12 municipalities of Famy and Majayjay had Majayjay 6 Nagcarlan 30 the lowest number of marriages with 4 Paete 7 (0.3 percent) and 6 (0.5 percent) Pagsanjan 14 marriages, respectively. Ranked second was marriages under civil ceremony with 468 or 35.3 percent followed by marriages solemnized under other religious rites with 320 or 24.2 percent. However, none were officiated under Muslim and Tribal rites. Figure 2. Nationals 1.3% Among foreign nationals, the highest number of intermarriages involved Filipino brides and American grooms with 7 marriages, followed by Japanese and Korean grooms with 2 marriages each.
