His 91 yards was almost half of his total for all of 2011. His 60-yard touchdown reception was the longest TD reception of the Head Coach of Football year for Columbia. Offensive Coordinator/QBs Junior linebacker Zach Olinger was selected as the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon Jaime Elizondo (Maryland ’97) (September 17). Defensive Coordinator/Second- In Columbia’s season-opening win over Marist, Olinger recorded 10 total ary tackles (six solo), a forced fumble and an interception. With Columbia leading 10-3 and Marist with a first and goal on the Columbia one-yard line, Olinger hit Kevin Lempa (SCSU ’74) Calvin McCoy to jar the ball loose. Teammate Josh Martin jumped on the ball to preserve the lead for Columbia. Offensive Line Ed Argast (Colgate ’78) With the score 10-9 late in the fourth quarter, Olinger came up big again, intercepting a tipped pass to give Columbia the ball back with the opportunity to run out the clock.
