Assistant Coaches READING THE NATIONAL POLLS: Cal U moved up one spot to Nos. 13 and 11 in the AFCA and D2Football.com Top 25 polls, respectively. The Vulcans have been ranked in the AFCA poll for Mike Conway (Olivet Nazarene ‘83) - 11th season 13-consecutive weeks and the D2Football.com poll every week since October 2009. D’Monn Baker (Bowling Green ‘03) - 6th season WITHIN THE REGION: The Vulcans were ranked fourth in the initial Super Region One rankings Tight Ends released on Monday. In the first edition of the regional rankings, Cal U was behind three undefeated teams and two of those teams are facing each other on Saturday. The two top teams Dave Cole (California ‘04) - 9th season in the regional rankings receive first-round byes in the NCAA Playoffs, while the third and fourth Secondary/Recruiting Coordinator seeds host opening-round games on Nov. 17. Mike Evans (Saginaw Valley ‘00) - 10th season MOVE TO THE OUTSIDE: This weekend’s contest will feature two junior wide receivers in Trey Offensive Line Johnson (Cal U) and LaQuinn Stephens-Howling (Slippery Rock) that started their collegiate Mike R. Jacobs (Ohio State ‘01) - 5th season careers as reserve running backs. Johnson ranks second on the team this year in all three major Defensive Line receiving categories, including five touchdown receptions. In his first two years, he posted 485 Thomas Rebholz, Jr. (IUP ‘03) - 3rd season rushing yards and made only 10 catches. Stephens-Howling leads The Rock with 28 receptions and five touchdowns this year after rushing for 522 yards over the last two seasons. Safeties Chad Salisbury (Buffalo ‘99) - 4th season LOOKING FOR SIX: Last season, the Vulcans became the fourth school in PSAC history, and the Quarterbacks first since West Chester (2004-08), to reach the NCAA Playoffs in five-straight years. No program in the league has made six-consecutive berths in the NCAA Playoffs and IUP is the only school to David Storino (California ‘09) - 1st season have reached the postseason five-straight years on multiple separate occasions. Running Backs Larry Wilson (Slippery Rock ‘99) - 8th season TOUGH YARDS: Over the last two weeks, the Vulcans have yielded just 280 yards of total offense while posting back-to-back shutouts.
