By CARL MCKINNEY [email protected] Terri Thomas, a beloved administrator at Columbia High who retired last year due to health concerns, died of an unspecified illness Thursday afternoon, according to the school. Before leaving the school system, Thomas, 53, had been an assistant principal at seven schools in the county. She was with CHS for 10 years, said Principal Trey Hosford. “She was amazing,” Hosford said. “She was a person that Thomas really cared for others, worked extremely hard for students and did a lot of things behind the scenes to help people.” Thomas’ family started a scholarship that’s given out every year to seniors, Hosford said. “Any time she got the chance to help some- body, to be somebody to talk to, to be somebody to lean on, she would do that for all students,” he said. It’s not clear what illness Thomas had.
