Chalvey Sports FC A Brief History The 'Stabmonks' were founded in 1885 & apart from a brief break in the early 1980’s the club was reformed in 1986 by former club secretary Derek Macklin. During the club's history it has played in the South Bucks & East Berkshire Football League, The Great Western Combination, The Slough & District Football League, The East Berkshire Football League, The Hellenic Football League & The Combined Counties Football League. Very little is known about the club's progress in the early years but from the 1960's until the early 1990's, the club competed in the Slough & district Football League. During that period the club registered several wins in various senior & junior cup competitions including The Slough Town Senior Cup & Norfolkian Senior Cup. During the 1980's, the football club were based at The Garibaldi Pub, but after a change of landlord the club moved to Chalvey Working Men's Club and added W.M.C to its name for sponsorship reasons. When the Slough & District League folded at the end of the 1991-1992 season, Chalvey moved to the East Berkshire Football League and were placed into Division 1 & reserves into division 5. Both sides won their respective divisions that season, and the first team were promoted to the Premier Division for the 1993/1994 season & won the title in 1996/1997. During this period, the club had more success in cup competitions & won the East Berks League Cup on 3 occasions and were runners up three times. Chalvey also won another Norfolkian Senior Cup and Ascot & Fielden Cup and were runners up three times in the Slough Town Senior Cup. In season 2016/2017, the first team moved to compete in the Hellenic Football League. Chalvey won Division Two East that season and completed that feat by winning the same league in 2017/2018, our first league championship wins in twenty years. During the 2017/2018 season, the first team reached an agreement with both Slough Borough Council & Slough Town Football Club to groundshare at the new Arbour Park Stadium. This move allowed the club to take its deserved position to play at Step 6 of the National League System for the very first time. Our Reserve side moved to The Hellenic Football League the season afterwards. After a restructure in the summer of 2021, Chalvey Sports FC were laterally transferred from the Hellenic Football League into the Combined Counties Football League. We would like to thank all our generous sponsors for their support this season. Without their support, we would not be able to provide football for three adult men's football teams or be able to deliver our football in the community projects.
