2018 Annual Report and Statement of Accountability December 2018

SUPPORT OUR AGING RELIGIOUS 2018 ANNUAL REPORT AND STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTABILITY December 2018 Dear Benefactors and Friends of SOAR!, I am pleased to present to you the financial summary of the work of SOAR! during the fiscal year June 30, 2017 – July 1, 2018. This statement of accountability shows the financial viability of this organization, but the words of our grant recipients describes the true impact of your donations to SOAR!: “I love to say my Rosary looking out my new window.” (Sr. Patricia, age 94) “My room is so much brighter now and it is not cold anymore.” (Sr. Stella, age 104) “I like to sit by the window and read, and now I am so much warmer without feeling the cold drafty air.”(Sr. Francis, age 94) Missionary Franciscan Sisters, Tenafly, NJ The sisters benefiting from the bathroom upgrades reside on the St. Martin De Porres home care floor of the Motherhouse and are not currently in active ministry. The upgrades serve the immediate comfort and safety needs of our aging sisters and are in place for the benefit of sisters currently in ministry who will one day retire to the home care floor. Upgrades such as this facilitate better hygiene and increase their sense of dignity as they are able to perform simple personal care tasks without assistance from the home care staff. Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt, NY “Our retired Sisters who live at St. Joseph Villa, unless they are no longer mentally capable, are actively engaged in ministry – our Congregation’s Ministry of Prayer. This grant from SOAR! has made a significant, indirect impact on the ability of our aging and infirm Sisters to remain engaged in the Ministry of Prayer and thus, make a vital contribution to our Congregation. Bernardine Franciscan Sisters, Reading, PA Since 1986, Support Our Aging Religious has been faithful to its mission of providing assistance to aging religious. Thanks to you, SOAR! is in a strong financial position and will continue this ministry for many years to come. May God continue to bless you for your generosity, care and concern for our aging Sisters, Priests and Brothers. With prayers of gratitude, Sister Kathleen Lunsmann, IHM SOAR!
