Major General Jean-Pierre Montegu

MAJOR GENERAL JEAN-PIERRE MONTEGU Brigadier General Jean-Pierre Montegu has been assigned as French Defense Attaché in Washington, D.C., since August 25, 2017. He is married and has two children. He previously served on the Prime Minister’s military staff, as advisor on strategic, industrial, international (Europe, North America and international organizations) and air force matters. Brigadier General Montegu was born on February 21, 1967. He gained admission to the French Air Force Academy in 1986. He is a graduate of the Joint War College and the Center for Advanced Military Studies (CHEM) in Paris. He is a fighter pilot who has logged 2,000 flying hours in the Jaguar, Mirage 2000 and Rafale combat aircraft. He flew 126 combat missions in operations Deliberate Force, Provide Comfort, Crécerelle and Epervier. EDUCATION 1987: Exchange student, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Co. 1988 : French Air Force Academy Engineering degree 2002 : French War College, Paris 2014 : Center for Advanced Military Studies (CHEM), Paris 2014 : Institute for National Defense Advanced Studies (IHEDN), Paris.
