At this time, when our day-to-day lives and school activities have been disrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is important to record the impact this historic event is having on your life. You are living through a very unique historic time. Journals are a source of information historians use to piece together the events of the past. This journaling assignment gives you the opportunity to record the events from your unique perspective. This assignment gives you the opportunity to become the historian, recording this event as it unfolds day-to-day. As you journal keep the following ideas in mind: What has changed in your day-to-day life? Which changes have been the most difficult to deal with? Which changes, if any, have been a pleasant surprise? During this time, what do you do to maintain connections to others, (friends & family)? How is this impacting your community, state, nation and world? How to keep your journal: (This can be done with a spiral notebook, loose leaf paper in a binder or on a computer using a word document) Start with a specific time of day to make your daily entries. Evenings are a good time to reflect on the events of the day. Find a quiet place to be to write in your journal. Each entry should begin with the date. Write from your heart, what is on your mind, as you process the events going on around you. Keep in mind the ideas listed above to help focus your thoughts.
