Day One - Winchester Cathedral - Salisbury Cathedral - Lacock Abbey - Bath Depart for the journey to Winchester for a visit to the Cathedral, begun in 1079 in the Romanesque style this Cathedral is at the heart of Alfred's Wessex. Continue your journey to Salisbury for a visit to the Cathedral, which has the tallest spire in England. Finally enjoy a late afternoon visit to Lacock Abbey before taking the journey to Bath to check-in at your accommodation for the next 3 nights. Day Two - Open Top Bus Tour - Roman Bath & Pump Room - Bath Abbey - Bath Winchester Cathedral After breakfast enjoy an Open Top Bus Tour of beautiful Georgian Bath before a visit to the Roman Baths & Pump Room, the best preserved Roman religious Spa from the ancient world. On then for an afternoon visit to Bath Abbey, standing in the heart of the city and during the past twelve and a half centuries, three different churches have occupied this site. The present abbey church founded in 1 499, ruined after the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539 by order of Henry VIII, was completed in 1611. Overnight Bath. Day Three - Glastonbury Abbey - Wells Cathedral - Bath Bath Abbey Depart for a morning visit to Glastonbury Abbey, where for centuries travellers and pilgrims have visited this sacred site, situated in the heart of the beautiful county of Somerset. Take the short journey to Wells, began as a holy place, taking its name from the springs in what are now the Bishop's Palace grounds. On arrival visit Wells Cathedral and the first church was built near the Wells in 705 and the present cathedral buildings were begun in 1180. It is one of the most impressive of the English Cathedrals and has survived eight centuries and dominates the attractive small city of Wells. Return to your hotel in Bath for overnight. Wells Cathedral Day Four - Cotswolds - Coventry Cathedral - Open Top Bus Tour of Stratford-upon- - Stratford-upon-Avon Depart Bath taking the journey through the lovely stone coloured Cotswolds villages to Coventry for a visit to the two Cathedrals.
