The proportion of the population living below the poverty threshold was 69.5 percent. The poverty gap ratio was at 0.4. While only 13.8% experienced food shortage, those living below food threshold was at 58.7% indicating that maj orit y were unabl e to mee t the requ ire d foo d needs.
