Additional Info OFFICIAL SYMBOL: F2RL2 Proteinase-activated receptor 3, PAR-3, Coagulation factor II receptor-like 2, Thrombin ALTERNATE NAMES: receptor-like 2, F2RL2, PAR3 ACCESSION NO.: O00254 GENE ID: 2151 USER NOTE: Optimal dilutions for each application to be determined by the researcher. Background and References Coagulation factor II (thrombin) receptor-like 2 (F2RL2) is a member of the large family of 7-transmembrane-region receptors that couple to guanosine-nucleotide-binding proteins. F2RL2 is also a member of the protease-activated receptor family and activated by BACKGROUND: thrombin. F2RL2 is activated by proteolytic cleavage of its extracellular amino terminus. The new amino terminus functions as a tethered ligand and activates the receptor. F2RL2 is a cofactor for F2RL3 activation by thrombin. It mediates thrombin-triggered phosphoinositide hydrolysis and is expressed in a variety of tissues. REFERENCES: 1) Bailey, S.D., et al. Diabetes Care 33(10):2250-2253(2010) 2) Popovic, M., et al. J.
