2nd Annual Texas Hydro~Geo Workshop Hands-on experience in real-world field settings! WELCOME TO THE ALPHABETICAL LISTING OF MODULES 2015 TEXAS HYDRO-GEO WORKSHOP Module Page Aquatic Cave Crustaceans .................................................................................................................................15 The Texas Hydro-Geo Workshop was created to bring students, academicians, Being Comfortable in the Field ..........................................................................................................................8 and practitioners together in a field setting as a hands-on learning experience. Participants will have the opportunity to explore many different techniques for the Borehole Geophysics ...............................................................................................................................................7 collection and analysis of data from soil, rock, and water. The workshop is structured Care and Maintenance of Your Field Equipment ..................................................................................13 to provide participants with the opportunity to work with leading researchers and Career Development .............................................................................................................................................13 practitioners from across the state and nation. Please make sure that you take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Cave Geology ............................................................................................................................................................12 This event has been made possible by the great generosity of our host, Tom Cave Mapping ...........................................................................................................................................................12 Summers, owner of Cave Without A Name, and his wonderful staff including Mike Caves and Cave Safety ...........................................................................................................................................12 Burrell, who are stewards of an outstanding natural treasure – Cave Without A Caving - Trip to a Wild Cave ..............................................................................................................................12 Name. Please treat the cave and property with great respect. We are practicing a Environmental and Geotechnical Drilling, Logging, and Sampling ...........................................6 “Leave No Trace” ethic for the event. The Workshop would not have been possible without the many countless hours ESRI Collector for ArcGIS Mobile App ............................................................................................................9 contributed by volunteer members of the Bexar Grotto of the National Speleological Field Digital Data Collection ................................................................................................................................8 Society. In addition we thank our many sponsors that have stepped up with both Field Instruments: Map, Compass, Rock Hammer .................................................................................8 financial support and contribution of in-kind services and equipment. Their Field Notes/Field Books ..........................................................................................................................................8 involvement has provided a much richer and expanded experience while helping to keep costs low. Field Safety .....................................................................................................................................................................7 We have been amazed at the interest and response for the workshop and have Floating and Underwater 2D/3D Resistivity Imaging ...........................................................................6 participants traveling from across Texas and surrounding states as well as Geo-locating Wells and River Gages in the 21st Century ................................................................14 internationally. We hope you find the event educational and fun. Make sure that GOES Network and Other Logging Equipment ....................................................................................13 you have an enjoyable and safe experience and thank you for coming.
