Worth Sunday, Dec. 17 Saturday 10:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m. Kickoff at Oakland H JERRY JONES H Owner/President/General Manager, 1989-Present 2017 Pro Football Hall of Fame Inductee Recognized around the NFL as one of his era’s most influential and passionate owners, Jerry Jones was selected for induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a contributor in February of 2017 and completed his trek to Canton with the unveiling of his Hall of Fame bust and induction ceremony on August 5, 2017. In addition to becoming the first NFL owner to lead his franchise to three Super Bowl titles (1992, 93 and 95) in a four year period of time, Jones’ efforts in the areas of sports marketing, promotion, stadium development, and network television negotiations created a lasting imprint on the landscape of the NFL and the American sports culture. Since his purchase of the Cowboys in 1989, the team has won 10 division titles, while advancing to the postseason 14 times and reaching the NFC Championship game four times. As Dallas’ general manager, Jones has overseen personnel efforts that include the acquisition of 47 different players who have combined for a collective total of 142 Pro Bowl appearances. Six Cowboys players from Jones’ tenure of ownership have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame -- Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, Deion Sanders, Larry Allen and Charles Haley - while Jones has served as the presenter for three of those men: Irvin, Smith and Allen. The lasting landmarks to Jones’ legacy of promoting and protecting the future of the sport of football can be seen in the con- ception and construction of AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and The Star in Frisco, Texas. The stadium, which opened in 2009, has a capacity of over 100,000 and is the largest and most technologically sound indoor/outdoor stadium in the world. The Star, which serves as the world training headquarters for the Dallas Cowboys, is a state-of-the-art venue that enjoys a first-of-its-kind partnership with its surrounding community in Frisco, Texas, and the young men and women who compete in athletics at the high school and youth sports levels. On the league level, Jones has served lengthy stints on nearly every significant NFL ownership committee, including the Competition Committee, the Broadcast Committee, the Management Council’s Executive Committee, the Health and Safety Advisory Committee, and he is currently the chairman of the NFL Network and Pro Football Hall of Fame Committees. Born on October 13, 1942, Jones’ connections to the game of football go back to his playing days at North Little Rock High School. He then earned a scholarship to play at the University of Arkansas where he was a co-captain of the 1964 Razorbacks’ national championship team. Jones, who became the 15th NFL owner to be selected for induction into the Hall of Fame, is the only man in football history to both play for a collegiate national championship football team and own a Super Bowl winning club. Jones was born on Oct. 13, 1942 in Los Angeles, Calif. The Cowboys are also tops in the league with 105 rushing first downs and are third with 16 rushing touchdowns. (RUSHING TO THE TOP - page 15). * The Cowboys have 50 big-play runs of 10-or-more yards to tie for second in the league. Dallas also has 10 rushes of 20+ yards to tie for eighth (RUSHING TO THE TOP - page 15). * The Dallas offense boasts 23 drives of five-or-more minutes - tied for third in the NFL in 2017. The unit also has posted the most touch- downs (12) and second-most points (97) during drives of five-or-more minutes (DRIVE FOR FIVE - page 15). * The Cowboys offense has racked up 24 total drives of 10 plays-or-more - tied for 10th in the NFL. Additionally, the unit’s 12 touchdowns on those drives are tied for the league lead, while their 100 total points are fourth (TEN PLAYS-OR-MORE - page 15). * The Dallas offense has scored on 53 of its 140 drives for a 37.9% scoring efficency rate to place ninth in the NFL, while boasting the fourth-highest touchdown efficiency rate (26.4%) and boasts the third-most touchdown drives (37) (FINISHING DRIVES WITH SCORES - page 15). * The Cowboys have the fourth-highest red zone touchdown effeciency rate in the NFL (63.0), while their 29 touchdowns in the red zone are fourth and 230 total points rank sixth (RED ALERT - page 15). * Dallas’ offense is fourth in the league with a 44.8 third down percentage (74-of-165) (THIRD-AND-NO PROBLEM - page 15). * The Cowboys defense has collected 32.0 sacks to tie for 13th in the league (SACK ATTACK - page 21).
