Intensity and discipline were not prevalent today and it showed on the scoreboard. We had a few injuries too, which is unlucky. We face a big UNDER 13B challenge next week. UNDER 15C We know that we have the talent to win games of footy and on Saturday we started to show some of the form that is required to win games. The score board did not reflect the effort that we put in over the four quarters this is were we need to work a lot harder on the training track in our fitness and skills. Well done. The Dales had mixed results this week, with the Under 9D’s having their first win for the season. The Under 14s, 15s and both of the under 17s had good wins, unfortunately the 9A, 10s, 11s, 12s and 13s had narrow losses. An online poll on the EFL Sporting Pulse website this week had a vote on the best junior side in the EFL. The Lilydale Under 17A was voted the best team. Russell, Sean and Lachy should be congratulated on the result however we all know that there is a long way to go in the season and all teams shouldn’t get to ahead of themselves. The Under 17A team are playing this Friday night at 6.15 pm at Mooroolbark Senior ground which is on Longfellow Reserve Mooroolbark. Good Luck for the night game boys. UNDER 17A The Office Works BBQ was held and again a big thankyou to the fundraising committee who in the past month have raised in excess of $10000. The Cadbury chocolate Drive is now underway and we are relying heavily on the funds from this to bolster our cash for the extension at the Gateway. Good Luck to the Under 14 boys who are representing the EFL this week and next weekend in Interleague matches. The boys are Shane Kallosche, Bayley Scoirtino, Jamie Shaw and Joel Koger. The teams this week will be shown an anti-discrimination video and will be given a brochure to read. I ask all parents to discuss the content of this letter with you son and ensure he understands the content and what racial vilification is. This is very topical as a result of last weeks A.F.L match with Adam Goodes involved. Good Luck this week. Go Dales. Our boys fought hard in the second third and last quarters to grind Vermont down and break down their intensity. We had great team work all over the ground and used the ball well with quick movement switching play and hitting targets all over the ground. Our intensity and pressure didn’t stop and paid off for the end result. A credit to this group at the half way mark of the season 7 games 7 wins, we will keep a lid on this and work hard again in the second half. Keep the hard work up fellas. We set ourselves to start well and we did with 6 goals in the first quarter get your costumes ready and our small forward Josh Witt kicking 3 goals was fantastic. Our 2nd and 3rd quarters we workman like and we were always in control of the game. It was great to see that we finished the last quarter full of running by kicking 6 goals as that’s what good sides should do. Slushie Machine Available It was pleasing to see that our key forwards kicked 12 goals (8 to the talls and 4 to our smalls) and onballers 5 goals.
