ENGLISH MAGAZINE Presentation Dear readers: We would like to welcome you to our English magazine. We are students of the third grade of ESO and have been working on the magazine in the first term of this course, from September to December. First of all, we are going to introduce ourselves. After that, you are going to find articles that we have been writing, like interviews with some teachers, recipes and more. We hope that you’ll enjoy reading our articles. Let me introduce myself Hello! My name is Souhaila el Khoulati, I am 15 years old. I have 1 brother and 2 sisters called Mohamed and Ikram and Wassima. My hobbies are doing sports and reading, my better day of the week is Friday, I enjoy dancing, also going to the mountain; I like listening to music so much. The type from music that I like is pop, rock and relaxing music. My favourite singer is Carson Lueders, he is very beautiful and sings very well, and my favourite youtuber is Kevlex. His show is very funny. My brother is very good, although he is a little annoying, but I love him so much and my sister is very funny, I also love her so much, I enjoy giving my advice, I enjoy travelling with my family, it is very entertaining. I like school, my favourite subject is English, physical education, biology and arts. I enjoy working in groups. My name is Brianna. I ‘m 14 years old. There are 4 people in my house, my favourite hobby is listening to music. My brother is 12 years old. I like playing fornite and I hate homework. Hi, my name is Muqaddas; I’m 14 years old. I live in Olesa de Montserrat with my parents and my brother. My brother’s name is Moosa, he is 11 years old. My mom’s name is Saima and she loves to get crafty. My dad’s name is Mansoor and he is studying CCNA. Moosa studies in escola MARE DE DÉU DE MONTSERRAT. I study in a high school called INS DANIEL BLANXART PEDRALS . My favorite singers are Grace Vanderwaal and Selena Gomez. My hobbies are painting, crafts and writing. I don’t like reading, playing football, watching cricket and homework. I want to be a lawyer or a doctor. Let me introduce myself Hello, my name is Kandela and I’m 13 years old. I was born in Martorell on December 25, 2004. I don’t have any brothers, but my mother has a friend of always and has a son who is like my brother. My hobbies are playing drums, listening to music, shopping, traveling and doing crafts. My singer favourite is Bruno Mars, I love him. I do not know what I want to work, but I like theater a lot. My favorite food is pasta. Let me introduce myself Hi, my name is Laia and I’m 14 years old. There are 3 people and 2 dogs and 5 cats in my family: my parents, Marta and Toni. I don’t have a brother and sister, my dog’s names are Draco and Jack, my cats are Nina, Neko, Jodie, Willy and Foxy. Let me introduce myself: My name is Nadia Mouhal Benhdia, I am 14 yeras old, I have a brother, his name is Ismael and have a sister, her name is Salma .My favourite hobby is listening to music and my favourite day is Saturday, my favourite colour is black, my favourite music is relaxing music .I don’t like school. I would like to be a psychologist. I like listening to music because it is relaxing. I don’t like school because it is very boring. I have a brother, he is two years old, he likes watching TV. I want be ha psychologist because I like helping people. I like sleeping always because I like to rest, I like the confidence I have with my friends. I like reading books because it is interesting. RECIPE FOR: RAINBOW CAKE INGREDIENTS 300 gr of flour 300 ml olive oil 300 gr of sugar 6 eggs 3 teaspoon of yeast 2 teaspoon of vanilla extract colorant: blue, orange, yellow, purple, green, red For coverage: 400 ml of cream 500 ml of cream cheese 200 ml of icing sugar PREPARATION: Put the olive oil and brown sugar in a bowl and mix them. Crack 6 eggs open, mix all well. Next, add the flour and yeast and mix. Add vanilla extract, shake all until you have a homogeneous mix. Pour 6 eggs into the same bowl. Put the colorant in the bowl, blend everything. Put a little oil into the mould Pour the batter in the mould, bake the cake at 180°C during 20 minutes. Allow to cool. For the cream, beat the cream and sugar and mix with the cream cheese. Finally, put it on the cake. Brianna Recipe for warm chocolate liquid cake Ingredients: ♥ 55g chocolate coverage ♥ 40g flour ♥40g sugar ♥40g butter ♥2 eggs ♥Ice cream with cream flavor to decorate ♥Ice cream sugar and mint to decorate Preparation: ♥Put flour on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. ♥Melt butter with chocolate in bain-marie. ♥Beat the eggs and the sugar with the help of a rod blender. ♥Add the chocolate with the melted butter and mix gently, with round movements. ♥Add the baking flour and keep mixing gently ♥Line the moulds with baking paper and pour in the dough, until you reach the middle of the mould. ♥Bake at 200ºC for 5 minutes. ♥Remove from the oven, let it rest for a minute, place it on the serving dish and remove the mould. ♥ Sprinkle with icing sugar, add a scoop of ice cream and decorate with mint leaves. Finished! Aroa Recipe for unicorn cake Ingredients ★ 3 cups of all purpose flour ★ 30 gr of baking powder ★ 2 cups of sugar ★ 1 cup of natural yogurt ★ 1 cup of oil ★ 3 eggs ★ White fondant ★ Whipping cream ★ Food coloring ★ A pastry bag ★ And edible gold paint Instructions First mix all the dry ingredients. Then mix 1 cup of yogurt 1 cup of oil and 3 eggs with the dry ingredients. Mix well. Put the batter in a big round baking mold. Wait 40 min and check every 10 min. When done, leave the cake on a strainer plate to harden. Use white fondant to cover the whole cake. Now use a new pastry bag to mix the whipped cream with red, yellow, black and blue (separately). Decorate the cake red, yellow and blue: this is for the unicorn hair. Use black mixed whipped cream to make the eyes. Get a small packet of fondant, cut it in half and form into snakes and then twist them together. This is the horn. Paint it with the edible gold paint. FINALLY ENJOY Muqaddas Mansoor Recipe for Sacher cake Ingredients 1. 1290 g almond paste 2. 390 g sugar 3. 630 g of egg yolks 4. 450 g eggs 5. 750 g egg white 6. 390 g sugar 7. 300 g flour 8. 150 g cocoa powder 9. 300 g cocoa paste 10. 300 g butter Preparation 1. Mix the almond paste (130g) of sugar. Next add the yolk of egg one by one until you have a smooth paste. 2. Beat the eggs white with the rest of sugar (260g). 3. Sieve the cocoa powder with flour. Meanwhile, melt the cocoa paste with the butter. 4. Add a small quantity of the egg whites beat and add to the cocoa paste and the butter so that the mix is soft and liquid. 5. Add the almond paste, and with the help of a spatula mix in the dry ingredients. 6. Finally add the egg whites, beat and mix. 7. Divide in baking moulds (round) or in trays, bake at 180°-200°C and then leave it for some 20-25 minutes. Souhaila Double chocolate cake with Maltesers Ingredients for 9/12 persons Ingredients For the black chocolate cake: ● 50 g black chocolate ● 50 g butter ● 50g sugar ● 2 eggs ● 50 g flour ● 2g yeast For the white cake: ● 50 g white chocolate ● 50g butter ● 50 g sugar ● 2 eggs ● 50 g flour ● 2g yeast For covering: ● 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract ● 500ml cream ● 350g chocolate with milk ● 2 teaspoon of icing sugar ● To your liking of Maltesers for decorating Preparation Of the white and black chocolate cake. 1. Heat the oven to 170 º C, butter a mould, and sprinkle with flour. Melt black chocolate and butter in a bain-marie or microwave, a minute or two at half power, and reserve. 2. Whiten the eggs with the sugar in a food processor. Add the melted chocolate and butter, and also the vanilla extract. Add the previously sieved flour a couple of times with the yeast, and mix it with a spatula. 3. Pour the dough into the mould and bake for 15 or 25 minutes, or until the tip of a cupcake thermometer turns red. 4. Remove from the oven, let it stand for 15 minutes, unmould and put the cake on a rack to cool. 5. Repeat the same process with the ingredients of the white chocolate sponge cake and, once baked and let it cool on a rack. 6. Put the sugar and the cream in a saucepan. Heat it until the thermometer reaches 87° C at most.
