Mark Crossley Presenter & Broadcast Journalist

Mark Crossley Presenter & Broadcast Journalist Mark Crossley is an award-winning music and sports broadcaster, with over five years experience on one of the UK’s biggest radio stations, Absolute Radio. Mark was named Best Male Presenter at the 2008 Student Radio Awards and selected by the Radio Academy as one of their inaugural '30 Under 30’ in 2011, recognising him as one of the brightest young talents in UK radio. He has also received nominations at the Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards (2012) and at the Football Supporters Federation Awards (2013). Mark began his radio career whilst studying Broadcast Journalism at Nottingham Trent University. He took over and re-launched the student station Fly FM, leading it to awards success. He subsequently worked on stations across the Midlands including BRMB, Beacon Radio and Trent FM, before hosting shows on BBC Radio 1 and Absolute Radio on the same day in May 2009. A few months later, Mark joined the team at One Golden Square full time. He’s worked right across the schedule, presenting virtually every show - including overnights, weekends, afternoons and mid mornings. He also hosted the station’s flagship evening show between 2011 and 2013 - which was sponsored by IKEA, picking up an Arqiva nomination for ‘Most Effective Campaign’. Passionate about his music and passionate about his sport, Mark has anchored Absolute Radio's 'Rock N Roll Football' coverage on Sunday afternoons, plus the slot after Frank Skinner on Saturday mornings. Since June 2010 he has also hosted daily shows on the digital stations Absolute Radio 90s and Absolute Radio 00s, producing and crafting music specials and documentaries featuring bands such as Suede, Supergrass, Feeder and Shed Seven. Mark is a qualified Broadcast Journalist too - plus the host, producer and co-founder of the Football League podcast 'We Are Going Up'. It features interviews with players, managers, journalists and fans each week, plus comment, analysis and debate on the lower leagues. The podcast was only beaten by The Guardian's 'Football Weekly' when nominated at the prestigious FSF Awards 2013, held at The Emirates Stadium in London.
