WELCOMEWELCOME TOTO MIAMI...MIAMI... BIENVENIDOBIENVENIDO AA MIAMI.MIAMI. I take tremendous pride in the direction this program is heading. My staff and I are 100 percent committed to making Miami a program synony- mous with postseason victories and conference championships. I have truly found a home in Miami – within the Athletic Department, the University itself and the wonderfully supportive community. Miami is a special place and everyone within our program is proud to represent the “U”. We plan on making you proud, both on and off the court. As a head coach, I believe it is my job to help my young ladies bal- ance the demands in five obligations of their collegiate lives – athletic, academic, family, spirituality and social. Not only am I determined to teach basketball skills on the court, I start every day with the mentality that my staff and I are also life changers. We are determined to challenge, transform, develop and educate our players so that they are prepared for whatever obstacles that lie in front of them – whether it be in the last minutes of a tie game or in their first job interview after graduation. One of our favorite sayings within the program is “Average is Easy”. The course we have chosen thus far has not always been easy, but then again we are not just settling for average. We expect excellence and we demand that in every habit our players display. We are building strength and character within this program. While we have a “young” team – only three seniors and five newcomers – the matu- rity of this team is truly apparent in the way they attack and handle each and every drill in scrimmage during practice. This team is hungry for victory and is dedicated to putting in the necessary hard work to achieve its goals. I challenge the Miami community to embrace this team as its own and support these young ladies as they compete against some of the most sto- ried teams in the nation, while striving to make their own history. Please join us in the quest! Go ‘Canes! 1 2009-10 University of Miami This is Miami Women’s Basketball Quick Facts THE UNIVERSITY COACHING AND SUPPORT STAFF Location . Coral Gables, Fla. Head Coach .
