(2) Acknowledges the Government for taking the necessary reforms that have delivered the largest investment programme in regional New South Wales in history. (3) Considers anything the Opposition does is no more than a political stunt. Upon which Mr David Harris moved, That the motion be amended by leaving out all words after “That” with a view to inserting instead: “this House: (1) Acknowledges that all members of this House support infrastructure investment in regional New South Wales. (2) Acknowledges the Government has implemented reforms that have delivered the largest transfer of public assets to the private sector in the State’s history.” Question proposed—That the words proposed to be left out stand. The Speaker resumed the Chair at 2.15 pm. _____________ 10 DEATH OF KATHLEEN SMITH, A FORMER MEMBER OF THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY The Speaker informed the House of the death, on 31 May 2017, of Kathleen Smith, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly, and that on behalf of the House, she extended to the family the deep sympathy of the Legislative Assembly in the loss sustained. Members and officers stood as a mark of respect. 11 RE-ASSUMPTION OF THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE GOVERNMENT BY THE GOVERNOR The Speaker reported the following message from His Excellency the Governor: DAVID HURLEY Government House Governor Sydney, 31 May 2017 General David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), Governor of New South Wales has the honour to inform the Legislative Assembly that he has re-assumed the administration of the Government of the State. 12 TEMPORARY SPEAKER The Speaker obtained the leave of the House for Gregory John Aplin to act as an additional Temporary Speaker whenever requested to do so by, or in the absence of, the Deputy Speaker and the Assistant Speaker during the current Parliament. 13 NOTICE OF MOTION 14 QUESTION TIME _____________ Disorder: At 2.31 pm, the Speaker directed Ms Prue Car to leave the Chamber for three hours.
