Peter will be remembered for his total involvement in the Gowerton School in all its aspects. He devoted his abilities and energies to the utmost degree to the school’s well being, having a tremendous capacity for hard work, a pride in his own efficiency and in its impact on colleagues and pupils. Peter won for himself the respect, trust and liking of teachers and students alike, yet he was humble and modest in his achievements. He fell in love with all things ‘Gowerton’, and eventually retired from teaching 28 years later, having only ever taught at one school. Over the years he held many positions; Chairman of the staff common room, Chairman of the PTA, Governor and, of course, Head of Art. Mike’s approach to teaching was never focussed on academic success alone, but on a student’s overall contribution to the life of the Art department, and the school in general.
