Rice fields in Sanamxay district, Attapeu province The landscape of Sanamxay is very unique, it looks like a pot where rice fields are in the middle and surrounded by mountains. With traditional way of extensive farming, IDP do not significantly change the techniques of farmers. “We do not change the rice farming techniques of farmers here, we let them do what they generally do but the only challenge of farmers is record keeping as some could not even speak Lao language”. However, IDP has a special team established in Sanamxay district to help farmers doing some record and follow up. Despite being flashed away in July 2018 due to dam collapse in some villages, the areas remained good and are still certified as organic area.
