OUR PROGRAM FIRST DAY- Arrive Jodhpur Arrive at Jodhpur railway station/airport and transfer to hotel. Jodhpur, the stronghold of the fierce Rathore clan, was founded in 1459 by Prince Jodha. Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, situated on a low sandstone hill. Within the fort, visit Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal. Also visit Jaswant Thada, an imposing marble cenotaph, built in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II around 1899 and Umaid Public gardens. Stay overnight at Jodhpur. SECOND DAY - Jodhpur – Jaisalmer (280 Kms/4 Hrs) After breakfast drive towards Jaisalmer. Throbbing in the heart of the Thar, Jaisalmer today stands a city of gilded magic. The origins of Jaisalmer go back to the 12th century, when Rawal Jaisal abandoned his old fort at Ludarwa and laid the foundation of a new city. Arrive and check in at hotel. Explore rest of the day at your own leisure. Stay overnight in Jaisalmer. THIRD DAY - Jaisalmer After breakfast proceed for local sightseeing tour covering the magnificent fort, the Patwon Ki Haveli (Mansion) and Salim Singh Ki Haveli, with their carved balconies and brackets which are supreme examples of the art. In the evening, enjoy a camel ride to visit Sam Dunes. Stay overnight in Jaisalmer. FOURTH DAY - Jaisalmer – Bikaner (330 Kms/5 Hrs) After breakfast drive to Bikaner. Bikaner is named after its founder Rao Bikaji in 1488. Bikaner's dominant features are rippling sands and abundant sunshine. The city stands on an elevation, enclosed by a 7 kms wall, which can be entered from 5 gates. Bikaner is bolstered by imposing walls and has a 16th century fort housing old palaces, temples and mosque. Founded by Raja Rai Singh the fort is distinguished by its long range of 37 pavilions, a line of balconies and aerial windows of varying designs. Enroute visit Karni Mata Rat Temple at Deshnoke. Arrive and check in at hotel. Stay overnight in Bikaner. FIFTH DAY - Bikaner After breakfast proceed for local sightseeing tour. Visit the Junagarh Fort, constructed between 1588 and 1593 by Raja Jai Singh, a general in the Mughal Emperor Akbar's army. The city is also called the Camel Country. Visit the camel-breeding farm - the only one in Asia. Later visit Lalgarh Palace built for Sir Ganga Singh, Maharaja of Bikaner, between 1902 and 1926. Spend evening at your own leisure. Stay overnight in Bikaner. SIXTH DAY - Bikaner – Pushkar – Ajmer (300 Kms/6 Hrs) After breakfast drive towards Ajmer. Enroute visit Pushkar best known for its Brahma Temple built in the 14th century standing on a high platform near Pushkar Lake. This is the only temple in the world where Lord Brahma - Creator of the Universe, is worshipped. Arrive and check in at hotel. Later visit the famous Dargah Sharif tomb of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti. Stay overnight in Ajmer. SEVENTH DAY - Ajmer Departure After breakfast drive to Airport/Railway station for onwards journey.
