Mission Statement The Salem Baptist Church is transforming lives by Exalting the Savior, Evangelizing the Lost, Equipping the Saints and Expanding the Kingdom of God. 2018 The Year of Recommitment COMMITTED TO THE JOURNEY “Serving God and One Another in the Spirit of Excellence” E V E E A E X X N Q RETIRE RENOVATE P A G U RAISE a the Debt E our Facility A L I Generation L N T I P D Z E ...effectively managing God’s resources Each saint of God should be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ. In 2018 we expect each member to aspire to a higher level of worship, relationship, discipleship and stewardship. Ephes. 4:11-16 (NKJV) And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, [12] for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, [13] till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; [14] that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, [15] but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ-- [16] from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. In this new year, each of us should renew our commitment to the Lord Jesus, to one another as brothers and sisters in Christ, and to seeing lost souls served and saved. Matthew 9:37-38 (NKJV) Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. [38] Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." Rev. Dr. Selwyn Q. Bachus Senior Pastor Greetings in the name of He who orders our steps and directs our paths! Happy Resurrection Sunday! What a blessing it is to be able to gather and celebrate the high and holy day of the Church! He is risen! Thank you for sharing in worship with us here at the Salem Baptist Church. It is our pleasure to welcome you on today. If you are a part of the Salem Church family, thank you for your commitment to worshipping the Lord in spirit and in truth. If you are our guest on today, please do not let this be your last time with us. We invite you to return and become a part of our church family. We are grateful for the leadership, dedication and effort of Minister Ananias “Markey” Montague in leading the Music and Fine Arts Ministry of the Salem Baptist Church. Our gratitude is extended as well to each person who is a part of the Music and Fine Arts Ministry and to all who have made today possible. Our appreciation is given as well to Salem’s staff and leadership for the support necessary to accomplish this production with excellence. Erased! That is what we celebrate on today. Because of the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ on Calvary’s cross, our sins have been erased, we have been forgiven. God has done this for us through Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:13–14 (NIV) 13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. Our sins have been erased! What a reason to rejoice and worship on today. This is the day that the Lord has made! Let us rejoice and be glad in it! Psalm 24:7–10 (NKJV) 7 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Peace and Blessings! Pastor Selwyn Q.
