Currently, my family and I have been relocated to Singapore and upon trying to exchange Scottish pounds for Singapore dollars I was informed that Scottish pounds were not accepted. After discussing with fellow Scottish expats I was informed this is the situation in Singapore. I knew this happened in England too, which raises the point, can anything be done about this? As a passionate Scottish person I just find this discriminatory and unacceptable. I really hope this can be rectified in my lifetime. I look forward to hearing from you. She would like some clarification on both how the transition from Sterling to a new currency would work, but also on whether operating with a new currency would be any barrier to membership of the European Union for Scotland further down the line. She is concerned as she is of the opinion that the Euro is a key standard which would need to be met before membership. Could you provide some details on this process for (Redacted)? Thank you for your assistance with this matter and I look forward to your reply. Yours sincerely Stephen Stephen Gethins MP Member of Parliament for North-East Fife Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org).
