
Tractebel Engineering – New organisation Appointment of the team A new organisation of Tractebel Engineering has been announced and presented in June. The anticipated rollout of the new organisation is foreseen to take place on 1st January 2016. The team and the new positions are presented hereunder. Business Entities The six Business Entities are in charge of business development and contract management. They have P&L responsibility. Two Business Entities cover the business lines of nuclear and energy transition consulting respectively. Four Business Entities are geographical entities based on our current main offices in Belgium, Brazil, France and Germany. 1 Nuclear The nuclear activities of TE are closely linked to the Group activities in Belgium and the development of new built in UK and Turkey. There is also a strong development of business activities with external clients in Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, France and South Africa. The nuclear entity is responsible for business development worldwide in close collaboration with the geographical entities. Christian Pierlot is confirmed as Head of the Nuclear Entity After graduating at the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in 1980 as electrical engineer Christian Pierlot joined Tractebel Engineering and started his career in Oxford where he participated in a research and development project on nuclear fusion. In 1990, he achieved a world first by renewing the I&C system of the coal-fired power plant of Mol (Belgium) and converting it to a fully automated plant. On the basis of this reference, Christian and his team have automated the entire Belgian thermal fleet and numerous other projects in Europe. In 1999, Christian was appointed Director of the new business unit "Energy System Engineering" and opened up Tractebel Engineering's consultancy activities to new areas linked to the liberalisation of the European energy market. In 2003, Christian was put in charge of the Tractebel Engineering Product Line "Power & Gas". Christian is EVP of the Nuclear department of Tractebel Engineering since 2012. 2 Energy Transition & Innovation This entity has been created in January 2015 and has a twofold purpose : be the architect of the Energy Transition and facilitate innovation in Tractebel Engineering. Gilles Bourgain, is confirmed as Head of the Energy Transition and Innovation entity. Gilles Bourgain graduated Engineer from the Ecole Centrale de Paris and the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid. Gilles joined Gaz de France in 2000 and worked on Natural Gas for Vehicles, first in Mexico, then at the Research center in Saint-Denis. He then led a prospective project on the strategic impacts of long term climate mitigation scenarios. In 2007, he coordinated the EU-DEEP (40 partners, 30Me), first large European R&D project on the integration of Distributed Energy Resources into power systems. He was also responsible for the renewable R&D project of Gaz de France and launched the first GDF SUEZ task force on smart grids. Gilles joined Tractebel Engineering in 2010 in the Power System Consulting group that he has been leading since 2012. In 2015 he was appointed as Head of the Energy Transition Department. 3 Belgium & Associated Territories (Europe, South East Asia and India) This is a new geographical entity regrouping the Power & Gas and Infrastructure activities of TE in Belgium and other affiliates (Czech Republic, Italy, Poland and Romania – South East Asia and India). Marc Lepièce is appointed as Head of the Belgium & Associated Territories entity. Marc Lepièce completed his studies in Civil Engineering at the University of Liège in 1980. In 1994 he post-graduated in business administration at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management. He started his career with Tractebel Energy Engineering in 1982 as Design Engineer within a small team of experts specialized in mechanical structures. During the first 7 years, he built up his technical experience and then moved to project management with, as major achievement, the replacement of the Doel 3 steam generators in 1996. Marc was appointed as Mechanical Section Head in 2001 and afterwards Operation & Maintenance Solutions Department Head in Tractebel Energy Engineering (TEE). He became Executive Vice President of Tractebel Engineering in 2002 and was successively put in charge of Business Development and International Development. Since 2014, he is EVP Power & Gas. 4 Brazil & Latin America This geographical entity is built around Leme Engenharia (Brazil) with support of Tractebel Engineering Chile. This entity covers TE activities in Latin America. Claudio Maia, is appointed as new CEO of Leme Engenharia, in charge of Latin America business development. Claudio Maia obtained in 1985 a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Brasilia, Brazil. In 1990 he completed a Master degree in Engineering Rock Mechanics at the University of Toronto, Canada. In 2004 he obtained a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Coimbra in Portugal. Claudio worked for several companies as geotechnical Engineer and project engineer in rail subways and senior tunnelling engineer. In 2008, Claudio joined LEME as Manager of the Hydropower business division. In 2011 he became the COO of Tractebel Engineering Latin America. 5 France and Associated Territories (Africa, China, Mongolia) This geographical entity is built around Tractebel Engineering France, currently managed by Samy Benoudiz. The entity will cover TE activities in France, Monaco, China and Mongolia. Samy Benoudiz is confirmed as CEO of Tractebel Engineering France, in charge of the entity. Samy Benoudiz is Agronomist and holds a graduate degree in sanitary engineering and environment. Samy joined SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT in 1995. In 2002 he was appointed Regional Director of Lyonnaise des Eaux and was responsible for the western part of the Paris region. In 2008 he was appointed Senior Vice President for International Projects. He became a member of Degrémont Executive Committee, and he held the mandate of Executive Vice President of Degrémont Industry (2012-2014), General Manager and CEO of Ondeo Industrial Solutions (2009-2014), managing activities in Europe (France, Benelux, Spain and the UK), but also internationally. Samy Benoudiz serves as a member of the Executive Committee of Tractebel Engineering and CEO of Tractebel Engineering France since September 1st, 2014, when he joined the group Engie. 6 Germany and Associated Territories (Austria, Switzerland, Russia and CIS, Central Asia, Middle East, Turkey) This geographical entity is built around Lahmeyer International currently managed by Dr. Bernd Kordes. This entity will cover TE activities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Russia and CIS countries, Central Asia, Middle East region and Turkey. Bernd Kordes is confirmed as CEO of Lahmeyer International, in charge of this entity. Bernd Kordes completed his Bachelor and Master degree as Civil Engineer in Karlsruhe in 1980. He started his career as research assistant at the University of Karlsruhe in the department of water supply and sanitation during 5 years. In 1987 he obtained his Ph.D. degree. In 1986 he joined GKW Ingenieure GmbH in Mannheim as director of the Department for Special Projects and afterwards for the departments Environmental Engineering and Europe. Between 1989 and 1993 he worked with Woodward-Clyde, an US-based geotechnical and environmental consulting company as managing director of the newly established German subsidiary. In 1993 he re-joined GKW where he became President & CEO in 1996. In 2005 GKW was acquired by Pöyry and he became member of Pöyry’s Group Executive Committee in 2009. Bernd holds the position of President and CEO of Lahmeyer International GmbH since 2010. He is based in Bad Vilbel, near Frankfurt, Germany. 7 Business Lines (or “Metiers”) Business lines (or “metiers”) are new functions, transversal to the organization in order to make the link between the geographical entities, to promote knowledge sharing and networking and to ensure the connection with the métiers of ENGIE. Hydro Erkan Tekirdaglioglu is appointed as Head of the Business Line Hydro. Erkan Tekirdaglioglu completed his studies as a Civil Engineer in 1989 at the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. He then started his professional experience with Coyne et Bellier and spent 26 years within the company specialising in dam engineering. Erkan has been involved in the design and assistance during the construction of several major projects in Siberia, Tajikistan, Lesotho and Sudan as resident Engineer in 1992. He has taken part in large dam projects from the prefeasibility stage to the construction. He holds experience in design, construction and contract management. He has managed complex contractual matters in various types of construction contracts and has then acted as a senior contract specialist within the company. Since 2011, Erkan is Senior Vice President in charge of the Dams and Hydroelectric Schemes at Tractebel Engineering France. 8 Infrastructure & Environment Hein Dirix is appointed as Head of the Business Line Infrastructure & Environment. Hein Dirix holds an Engineering degree of the University of Leuven, Belgium and completed the General Management Program at CEDEP in Fontainebleau, France. Hein began his career with Exxon Chemical in 1990 but quickly moved to Electrabel where he exercised various jobs in Operations and Maintenance of power plants.
