Many children die because the symptoms of pneumonia are not recognized. Outcome: An automated device that helps healthcare workers at the community level diagnose pneumonia. Status: The first ARIDA device has been manufactured and analysis of field trial results in Ethiopia are on-going. ©UNICEF/Nepal/Hayalanesh/2016 Zika Virus (ZIKV) Point of Care (POC) Diagnostics Problem: Analysis of field-level need found out that >95% of ZIKV diagnoses are clinical and when a lab is available lead-time for lab diagnosis is 4-8 weeks. Outcome: Development of sensitive and specific ZIKV (POC) diagnostic. Status: A Request for Proposal (RFP) for procurement of ZIKV POC diagnostic tests closing March. This including for access to an advance purchase commitment for delivery during 2017-2019.
