About the Opportunity: Protocase is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced CNC Machining Technologist/Specialist to join our Production team in the fast-paced CNC Machining department in Sydney (Cape Breton), Nova Scotia. Our customers – engineers, designers and scientists – depend on Protocase to quickly and accurately CNC machine custom enclosures, panels and parts. Our CNC Machining equipment includes 3- and 5-axis milling machines, CNC Router, and CNC turning. As a member of the busy CNC team, you will help operators and programmers to optimize jobs, solve problems and improve processes, along with performing CNC programming tasks yourself. You will also assist our CNC Machining Specialist with troubleshooting equipment problems and repairing equipment as needed with in-house and/or manufacturer support. Essential Skills: A degree or diploma in CNC machining, mechanical technology, or a related discipline, from a program of 3 months to less than a year 5 or more years of experience with CNC machining, including 3 and 5 axis-milling and CNC turning with live tooling Experience with programming CNC machine tools Keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Excellent written and oral communication skills Effective interpersonal skills and a team-player attitude Own transportation Criminal record check and confidential security clearance Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) About the Benefits: In exchange for your hard work and dedication, the successful candidate will earn a yearly salary ranging from $43,000 to $56,000 for 40 hours per week, plus a variety of benefits: Medical, Dental, Life Insurance and Group Insurance Benefits after six months Two weeks’ vacation (three weeks’ vacation at three years of employment; four weeks’ vacation at five years) Cost-shared Company Pension Plan and YMCA Fitness Membership after six months Upon joining Protocase, you will find a supportive team that encourages professional development.
