Congri: A Cuban dish of black beans and rice cooked in a coconut milk. Loroco: Means edible herb in spanish. Technically a flower grown in Latin America. Masa: The spanish word for dough though in Latin America it refers to cornmeal dough. Mojarra: A white fresh-water fish. Plantain: A species of banana that is eaten only when cooked. Can be used green or under-ripe and therefore starchy or overripe and therefore sweet. Tomillo Sauce: A thyme sauce made with oil and vinegar. Tomatillo: Firm green fruit with a slightly tart flavor. Yuca: A starchy root much like a potato.
