Technical Appendices – Green Space Strategy Update 2018 The Green Space Strategy Update 2018 provides updated information since the 2013 Green Space Strategy. The Technical Appendices contain parish information and information for the 24 main settlements in the Borough. The policies map that will be part of the SADPD identifies the majority of areas of green /open space that should be protected from other forms of development. Some incidental open space is too small to show on the policies map. The council maintains a GIS layer of green / open space and a database which covers a number of categories ranging from formal town parks and playing fields to play areas and allotments and amenity open space. As development takes place across the borough further green / open spaces will be created and added to this GIS layer and the database. Local green spaces will also be designated in neighbourhood plans. Made neighbourhood plans are part of the development plan and show areas of valuable green / open space plus local green spaces. There is no need for the council to repeat this information in the local plan but to ensure consistency across the rural areas, strategic areas of green / open space such as playing fields and play areas and large amenity areas such as village greens will be shown on the policies map. Strategic / important areas of green / open space will therefore be reflected for all parishes, regardless of whether they have a neighbourhood plan in place. The parish information in these appendices reflects these strategic/important areas of green/open space. The reference numbers relate to the database reference numbers. The technical appendices contain information regarding outdoor sports and children’s play for the 24 main settlements. Updates have been added since this information was produced as part of the Open Space Assessments 2012. In the Outdoor Sport schedules for each settlement information has been added from the Playing Pitch Strategy 2017 and the Playing Pitch Strategy unique reference number (PPS ID) has been included to aid accessing the Assessment Report and Strategy documents. For Example PPS ID 46 Fallibroome Academy has the following summary entry: “full size sand AGP 100 x 60; floodlit; Multi-use astro-turf. Football & hockey training & matches; pitch over 10 years old.” Play area data has also been reviewed. The information reflects a point in time and does not capture all the recent developments under construction at present. Once development has been completed on these sites and facilities have been inspected they will be added to the database. The policies map does show areas of future committed green/open space and again reflects a point in time. 1 Rural sites .................................................................................................... 3 Alderley Edge ............................................................................................... 18 Alsager ......................................................................................................... 21 Audlem ......................................................................................................... 25 Bollington ..................................................................................................... 27 Bunbury ........................................................................................................ 29 Chelford ........................................................................................................ 31 Congleton ..................................................................................................... 33 Crewe ........................................................................................................... 39 Disley ........................................................................................................... 48 Goostrey ....................................................................................................... 50 Handforth ..................................................................................................... 52 Haslington .................................................................................................... 54 Holmes Chapel ............................................................................................. 56 Knutsford ...................................................................................................... 59 Macclesfield ................................................................................................. 63 Middlewich ................................................................................................... 73 Mobberley .................................................................................................... 76 Nantwich ...................................................................................................... 78 Poynton ........................................................................................................ 85 Prestbury ...................................................................................................... 89 Sandbach ..................................................................................................... 91 Shavington ................................................................................................... 98 Wilmslow ...................................................................................................... 100 Wrenbury ...................................................................................................... 106 2 ABCDEFGHIJ 1 Rural sites 2 Settlement/Parish Parks Nat & Semi-nat Green Cs Outdoor Sports Amenity Children's Play Allotments Churches Country parks AC2 5A1 Wilbraham Road; AC3 5A2 AC1 Acton PS (Site 4A1 in PC Chester Road/ response) - some Wilbraham Rd - community use of field (goal PC would like to posts and play area); latest develop it into a Acton & info PPS ID 164 1 Mini 7x7 central Play area at school AC4 8A1 St Acton, Edleston & Eddleston - pitch; tenure -unsecure, no community at Acton used by Mary's Church Nantwich 3 Henhull footpaths community use space community Acton Basin on canal Adlington Golf Centre AD1, Ad Ind Est; Adlington PS AD2 Hibbertbrow - latest info PPS ID 165 1 Way - mini 5x5 pitch; tenure - St Johns, permissive unsecure; no community Brookledge 4 Adlington Adlington Hall path use Lane Macc Canal Archery Ground AD3, Middlewood Holehouse Lane, Adlington Whiteley Green 5 Way GR 392584 378830 Meth Ch 6 Agden Lydiat Lane PFs AE1 on edge of built up area in GB ( on saved local plan map) Alderley Edge (rural Alderley Edge Golf Course 7 sites) (GC)C 26AE ALP1 Nantwich Rd Bowling Green at Traveller's Playing Field and Rest PH ALP2 GR 357991 play area; new 8 Alpraham 359624 village hall?
