We would like to take the Opportunity to Thank the following individuals for their commitment and support to the SBC Nursery Children: Sister Angela Freeman (Nursery Director 1997-Present) Ms. Sheryl Robertson Ms. Kiersten Walker Ms. Ivanna Goldsberry Pastor Julian Dangerfield Pastor, Leader, Consultant, Speaker and Executive Director. For the past two years, Julian has served as the Interim Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Alexandria, Virginia, which has seen over 150 people join during that short time. In February of 1999, Pastor Dangerfield resigned from an illustrious career in Software Engineering, to serve the ministry of Shalom Outreach as its Executive Director. He has completed his Master of Arts degree in Leadership, Evangelism and Mobilization at Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina. He has been pursued by several institutions to complete his doctoral studies. Following receiving a vision to establish Shalom Outreach, Julian successfully trained and equipped Pastors, medical doctors, teachers, social workers, and young people for missionary travel into the continents of Africa and South America. Pastor Dangerfield serves as facilitator in connecting human needs with resources. He devised strategies with ambassadors to the United Nations from African Countries to confront the HIV AIDS pandemic. Through much research, careful examination and inquiry, he has mobilized thousands of African Americans to participate in short-term missions activities and this connection has helped foster salvation, food for the hungry, clothing for the naked, medical care for the sick and visitation to those in prison. In the United States he has organized the mission efforts of over 25 churches, ministries and not for profit organizations which has resulted in over 46,000 people coming to Christ. His intense training and its subsequent manual has been reproduced by other organizations and continues to serve and establish policy across the world. Julian's perspective is informed by over 25 years of experience in international mission work and he has traveled to over 40 countries executing strategies that lifts humanity while expanding God’s Kingdom. His passion for the nations has expanded the scope of his work into Cuba, Ghana, Mozambique and Tanzania. Julian is passionate about his pursuit to know God and to make Him Known. Inspirational Speakers Maysa Byrd Maysa Leilani Byrd, age 12, is a 6th grade student at Sangster Elementary School in Springfield, Virginia where she participates in Fairfax County Public School's Level IV Advanced Academic Program. At Sangster, Maysa plays the clarinet in the advanced band, participates in chorus and serves as a teaching assistant, providing support in a 1st Grade classroom. She received the highest mark for her clarinet duet at Solo and Ensemble Band Festival, participated in the Area Band program and also participated with other 6th graders from the area with the Lake Braddock High School choirs in a musical production. Outside of school, Maysa enjoys playing rec basketball with the Springfield South County Youth Club. She also enjoys free time reading, playing games, being with friends, listening to music and making crafts. At church, Maysa is an active participant in Shiloh Children's ministry having participated in programs, plays, choir and Children's Church since age 5. Maysa is the daughter of Deacon Steve and Sister Samia Byrd and has a younger brother, Elijah. Janae Andrews Janae Andrews is the youngest child of Brother Preston and Sister Nanette Andrews. Her older brothers are Jair and Jarel Andrews. He has been a member of Shiloh most of her life and baptized here. She is an eleven year old 5th grader who will be moving on to middle school next year. Throughout her elementary education she has been a honor student. She is enrolled in Prince Georges County, MD public school system. She is very active in both academic and extra-curricular activities. She is very active in the Shiloh Baptist Church in the Children’s Ministry, Dance Ministry, Children’s Choir and Drama Ministry, Janae is a very mild-spirited and caring child who loves to read, and listen to music.
