Starz' 'Girlfriend Experience' Seduces in Season 2 09.29.2017 ​ Starz returns with the second season of Steven Soderbergh's The Girlfriend Experience on Nov. 5, and it's a totally different take on the storytelling of season one, which starred Riley Keough. In season two, the series tells two parallel stories, each written, directed and executive produced by Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz. Kerrigan's storyline stars Anna Friel as Erica Myles, a high-powered Republican operative who recruits GFE (girlfriend experience) provider Anna Garner (Louisa Krause) to help her blackmail a dark-money fundraiser in order to gain access to his secret donor network. Along the way, Anna and Erica fall into complicated sexual relationship themselves that changes the course of both of their lives. Seimetz tells the story of former high-end escort Bria Jones (Carmen Ejogo) who enters the witness protection program to escape an abusive relationship and is forced to start a new, less glamorous life in New Mexico. Once there, she revives her career as a sex-worker but quickly realizes the stakes are much higher than she thought. Soderberg and Philip Fleishman executive produce The Girlfriend Experience along with Kerrigan and Seinmetz, who are also co-creators, writers and directors on the series.
