The Egyptian government exerts all effort to improve business and investment atmosphere in Egypt by activating and supporting the public private partnership, which helps in reforming the Egyptian economic path as well as encountering challenges. The government also strives to increase exports and encourage investment consequently producing Egyptian products with competitive advantages capable of winning domestic and international markets. As Exhibition Industry is one of the most important pillars supporting the Egyptian economy, in particular the Cairo International Fair, which has achieved great success all over its Consecutive Sessions, the ministry is highly concerned with exhibitions in order to achieve its objectives in enhancing and strengthing the economic and investment relations between Egypt and other countries. Also exchanging experiences in various fields of industry, trade and services through; hosting, organizing and participating in specialized international exhibitions which have a great impact on raising the standard of living and support society in encountering challenges that lie ahead. In this regard I have the honor to welcome your participation in the 52nd Session of Cairo International Fair, which will be held from 20-29 March 2019 in Cairo International Conference Centre, one of the most important trade fairs in Africa and Middle East. Asking God the success in achieving our national objectives towards a comprehensive economic revival that reflect positively on Egypt’s position in Global competitiveness. Mr. Samy Yonis Chairman of Egypt Expo and convention Authority Trade shows play a significant role in domestic and Foreign Trade. They serve as a major stimulus for improving and developing local products. Exhibitions offer show cases to the products and creat a challenging pool of competition on the local and international levels. Trade shows are important economic platform, where companies meet to build business relationships and share experience. They provide opportunities for direct interaction with target customers, hence support marketing and increase sales. The Cairo International Fair (CIF) is one of the important events organized by Egypt Expo and Convention Authority. The CIF hosts many Arab, African and Foreign Countries in addition to the local participation. CIF is pivotal chance for the Egyptian Products to Compete among the participating international products, it also offer the chance for Egyptian and Foreign businessmen to hold deals. Seeking to develop the CIF, Egypt Expo and Convention Authority moved the Exhibition to “Cairo International Conference Centre” with the aim to create a new applicable image to our beloved Egypt. The exhibition will be held in Five equipped halls with an area of 16760 sq.m, In addition to an area of 1500 sq.m in the Chinese garden for the open-air display together with another 9000 sq.m in the parking area. EECA also provides transportation facilities for visitors from the underground metro station to the conference centre and also within the premises of the Exhibition. On the Occasion of holding the 52nd round of Cairo International Fair – the largest event in the Middle East – I have the pleasure to welcome the exhibitors from all participating countries together with the national Companies, wishing them all success. A brief about Egypt Expo & Convention Authority (ECCA) The History of ECCA’s Foundation The exhibition industry started in Egypt in the 19th Century when Egypt participated for the first time in Paris International Exhibition in 1867 where khedive Ismail paid a visit to the Egyptian pavilion which gained gold, silver and bronze medals for the good quality of its products. Also King Fouad inaugurated the First Cairo Agro- Industrial Exhibition which took place at the Exhibition Grounds in al Jazeera in 1897. -The General Organization of International Exhibitions and Fairs (GOIEF) was established in 1956 under a Presidential Decree number 323. -EECA has become a General Authority by a Presidential Decree number 301 for the year 1966. - EECA has become an economic Authority by a Ministerial Decree number 1039 for the year 1979. - In 1980 GOIEF moved from the Exhibition Grounds in Al Jazeera to its current place in Nasr City. -Cairo international Conference Centre was established in 1988 by the Presidential Decree number 524 and is located in Nasr City, Cairo. - In May 2008 the Presidential Decree number 134 was issued to merge the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Centre (CICC) with The General Organization of International Exhibitions and Fairs (GOIEF) under a new name (Egypt Expo and Convention Authority (ECCA). Space: The total space of the Fair ground is 161 acres(100 acre in the Fair Ground+ 61 acre in the Conference Centre) around 670747. sq. m. EECA’s role and activities: 1- Organizing exhibitions inside and outside Egypt. In addition to participating in the International exhibitions. 2- Facilitating the organization of conferences, seminars and festivals inside Egypt. 3- Coordinating with the Ministry of Trade and Industry to open new markets for Egyptian products and maintain those in which the Egyptian products and goods were displayed. 4- Providing licenses for organizing exhibitions inside and outside Egypt for organizers in accordance with the regulations specified by law. 5- Supervising all the exhibitions in which the Egyptian products are displayed in and outside Egypt. 6- Assisting and providing exhibition organizers with all the studies and information required to ensure their success. 7- Assisting in the cultural and tourism promotion and open new channels for investment in Egypt and Real-Estate investments, highlighting Egypt’s accomplishments in all domains. 8- Giving the opportunity to Egyptian producers to display their products, exchange experiences with their foreign counterparts, and be updated with the latest technologies through participating in the Cairo International Fair and the international exhibitions organized abroad. 9- Assisting in making transactions for Egyptian products in national and international exhibitions through organizing meetings between Egyptian exporters and foreign importers. 10- Organizing conferences and seminars concurrent with the exhibitions to ensure its success as one of the means of developing Egyptian exports. 11- Providing all the facilities and services for exhibitors and visitors of the Fair ground.
