Government Circular No. 40/68 G.O. Reference No. A.1013/3 THE AUDIT ACT, 1886 -APPOINTMENT-OF PUBLIC AUDITORS FINANCE BOARD MEMORANDUM . The Board would refer to its Memorandum of May, 1967, (Government Circular No. 26/67) which was laid before and approved by Tynwald on 24th May, 1967, fixing auditors' fees for the year 1966/67. 2. Since then Messrs. W.H. Walker & Co. have been in correspondence with the Board about :the fees,to, be fixed for 1967/68. ,3. The fees fixed by Tynwald last year for the year 1966/67 totalled £6,489.13. 0., as set out in the first column of the Schedule hereto. 4. In the case of Boards and other Government bodies the Finance Board have unanimously agreed to recommend to Tynwald that whilst some of the fees should remain unchanged certain of them should be increased for 1967/68 and fixed those set out in the third column of the Schedule hereto; total fees to be fixed at £7,299.11. O. In the case of Local Authorities, etc., it has normally been the practice for the auditors to secure the agreement of the various Authorities to the fees proposed to be fixed :by,Tynwald.„ Whilst, therefore', again not proposing any , increases this year in these fees because this tradition of consultation has not yet been carried out, it is inevitable that adjustments in this . .field will have to be effected soon.
