Talent Search is a great supplement to guidance services offered at Mahanoy Area. The advisor is Miss Fritz, the Talent Search Aca- demic Specialist. Entry to the program usually be- gins in 8th grade in Mrs. Kern’s Career Education classes, but Miss Fritz has taken students based on guidance and teacher recommendation. In Talent Search, Miss Fritz takes students to career places to explore various fields of work and to post-sec- ondary school campuses to expose them to public and private schooling options. Students have said they benefited from this pro- gram and that they would be lost in the admissions and financial aid process without the additional help of being in Talent Search.
