Chinese Opera Performance A special Chinese Opera Performance as part of Asian Pacific American History Month Enjoy a special Chinese opera performance by musicians and performers from the Shanghai Theatre Academy within the beauty of Lan Su Chinese Garden on Monday, May 8 at 5 p�m� The Shanghai Theatre Academy is a comprehensive university of performing arts, with the focus on theatre training and studies for over 70 years� The Academy is one of the best art institutions of higher education in China� This performance is presented in partnership with Portland’s Wisdom Arts Academy with special support from the James F� and Marion L� Miller Foundation� Lan Su Chinese Garden 3 Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month the entire month of May May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and Lan Su is celebrating with a series of can’t miss events including cultural performances, family craft activities, personal stories of Asian heritage and more� The celebration is held in May in part to mark the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad built primarily by Chinese immigrants. Asian Pacific American Heritage Month celebrates all the cultures of Asia and the Pacific Islands.
