Notes For Our Families Dear Camp Family YMCA Northumberland is responding to COVID-19 across all of its program areas, including YMCA Day Camp. The health of our staff, volunteers, participants, and broader community members is our first priority. We are following the advice of public health agencies and our federal and provincial governments, and continue to pay close attention to their evolving updates. We thank everyone for your patience and understanding as we all respond together to this unprecedented situation. We wanted to take a moment to update you on the preventative measures that are in place at YMCA Day Camp: • An active pre-screening and symptom monitoring procedures for all campers, parents and staff that is implemented daily • Twice daily additional cleaning procedures of shared surfaces are in place across site, using products approved by Health Canada for the disinfection of surfaces • Frequent and thorough handwashing is being encouraged for all campers and staff. Handwashing stations and hand sanitizer are readily available across our site, and are restocked/cleaned frequently throughout the day. All campers are required to wash hands before and after eating, and before entering any building • Our social distancing efforts include, among other things, reducing the number of campers at tables, ensuring all campers/staff travel in designated small groups each day, maintaining, and being mindful of any games or program activities that require close or prolonged person to person contact Starting Monday, July 5, 2021 we will be screening all campers AND their parents/caregivers before they are permitted on site, asking them questions about risk factors and symptoms and requesting that they delay their visit if they pose a risk to others. Please be advised that this is a requirement for all of our campers and staff moving forward, and the pre-screening process/symptom monitoring process is mandatory. Please find attached the YMCA Day Camp pre-visit screening questionnaire, which you will be required to fill out when you drop of your camper. Please feel free to reach out to us at any time if you have any further questions Warm regards, YMCA Northumberland Camp Team COVID-19 Protocol for YMCA Day Camp To manage the risk of spread illness within the day camp setting YMCA Day Camp has developed a comprehensive cleaning and sanitation routine and personal health care practices including frequent handwashing.
