Our collective psyche was battered and bruised – our sense of safety compromised. In the days and weeks since, the community’s outpouring of love, generosity, and compassion for each other has been awe-inspiring. Our collective grit, resilience, and determination to heal is palpable. This coming year, the work for our community to heal will continue. Take the time necessary to take care of yourself. Take a long walk outdoors – it can really help put things into perspective. Talk with friends. Spend some of your time helping others. Hold your loved ones tight. Get to know your neighbors. Share a smile with a stranger and become part of something bigger than yourself. What would happen if each of us did a little something extra to make this community even better in 2019? On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff of the onejoC Recreation and Park District, we wish you, your family, and friends a healthy and happy new year!
