2019 Hrts Diversity & Inclusion Resource Guide

2019 HRTS DIVERSITY & INCLUSION RESOURCE GUIDE Presented by PREVIEW On behalf of all of us at HRTS, I am honored to introduce the HRTS Diversity & Inclusion Resource Guide. The concept for this guide was born at last year’s HRTS Spotlight Breakfast on how diversity drives innovation, when an attendee asked the panel, “How do we get involved? Where are your programs listed?” Recognizing HRTS is in the perfect position to provide a comprehensive guide -- as the premier community of entertainment professionals dedicated to networking and sharing information – we began to develop it. Then, I met Nancy Weintraub, Chief Development Officer of Easterseals Southern California. She shared powerful information about the opportunity to better serve our audiences by being more inclusive of people with disabilities. Check out the Easterseals section starting on p. R28 to read about the eye-opening perspective I’m talking about. As part of a sponsorship across several events, Easterseals Disability Services became the Presenting Sponsor of this inaugural resource, as well as of the 2nd annual event on inclusion, representation and diversity where we are debuting it. Participation from dozens of HRTS Corporate Member companies and partner organizations that shared their approach to inclusion and how to apply to their programs blew us away. And it illustrates the greatness of our business community and the power to come together. Naturally we look forward to the day a guide like this is obsolete. Until then, this initiative exemplifies how we aim to work with our members and partners to build on the 70+ year tradition of serving as a valuable resource for information, access and the forums to advance the most important conversations about our industry. I want to extend our huge thanks to Easterseals Disability Services for making this guide possible, and to all of you for your participation.
