During his twelve years as head coach, Laudenslager has led Wilkes to a dual match Wrestler Yr. Wt. Michael Fleck Sr. 125 Easton, PA / Wilson Area Laudenslager coached his first-ever NCAA Divi- sion III National Champion in freshman Matthew Grossmann (133) in 2014-15. Grossmann became the Matthew Grossmann So. 133 Lancaster, PA / Manheim Township Colonels 11th champion and the first Wilkes wrestler to capture a national title since 1975, earning several Freshman of the Year honors in the process. In 2008-09, Laudenslager guided the Colonels to a Nicholas Racanelli So. 157 West Creek, NJ / Southern Regional 17-6-2 record, winning the Metropolitan team cham- pionship. The Colonels placed seven wrestlers into the conference tournament finals, with 133 Josh Pauling, James Palys So. 157 Scotrun, PA / Pocono Mountain East 149 Erik Smith and 197 Zach Pizarro claiming titles. The Colonels ranked as high as 12th in the NWCA polls that season, and qualified five wrestlers to the Kelvin Awo Fr. 157 Lansdowne, PA / Penn Wood national tournament in Iowa. In the summer of 2010, Laudenslager was selected Matthew Judge Fr. 165 Eynon, PA / Valley View by the NWCA as a mentor for the 2010 Leadership Academy. He also served on the Division III NCAA Committee from 2006-2010. James Ilvento Jr. 165 Holmdel, NJ / Holmdel Laudenslager is a former standout wrestler for the Colonels, earning four varsity letters from 1994 to Kyle Diesel Sr. 174 Westtown, NY / Minisink Valley 1998 while wrestling at the Division I level. He broke onto the scene as a rookie when he fashioned an overall record of 24-7 while wrestling at both 126 and Jacob Brook Jr. 184 Layton, NJ / Kittatiny 134 pounds. Laudenslager finished fifth at the EIWA Championships and earned EIWA Rookie of the Year honors. His performance helped Wilkes fashion a dual Zachary Faust Fr. 197 Wilkes-Barre, PA / G.A.R. Memorial match record of 14-10-1 and cop a tenth place finish at the EIWA Championships. He also ended his fresh- man season with a team-leading nine wins by fall. Jordan Nochimson Jr. 197 Nutley, NJ / Nutley As a junior Laudenslager concluded the season with an overall record of 17-10 at 134 pounds. He posted Nicholas Dawson Gr. 285 Montoursville, PA / Montoursville six wins by fall and came close to knocking off EIWA champion Carl Keske from Cornell University, drop- ping a hard-fought 11-9 decision. He also earned a Kelly Pullen So. 285 Salisbury, MD / Wicomico second-place finish at the West Point Open, while claiming the team’s Shawn Galbreath Academic Coaches Award.
