A 2000 graduate of West Alabama with a degree in secondary education and a concentration in physical education, Russo had been a teacher and athletic director in the Millburn School District in Wadsworth, Illinois, from 2005 to 2008. Russo and his wife, Stacey, have been married for 13 years and have four children - Hailey (10), Lainey (7) and twins Palmer and Chase (2).
