This shows 110 broilers being barbecued over the charcoal fire while the crowd watched in anticipation of the half-chicken each person got to eat later. Aug. 24, 1960 40’s 50’s Fall Back In Time 80’s A Look Back In Time The Cape Girardeau Public 1987 School Maintenance Department, along with 35 workers from the Missouri Division of Employment, worked from 7 a.m. until late afternoon, to put up the bubble over the Cape Central Municipal Pool. Sept. 23, 1987 A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new foot bridge at Shawnee Park was 1988 held on August 23. Cape Area Youth Soccer Association President Barry Zerbe presented a check in the amount of $9,000 to the city for its participation in the bridge.
