COVID-19 RULES, POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES Due to the evolving nature of the pandemic and the response of public health agencies – in particular the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA- DoH), and Montgomery County Office of Public Health (OPH) – the following is subject to change. All changes will be posted on the Valley Forge Kennel Club Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/valleyforgekc/ The overriding goal in all the following is to minimize risk by minimizing potential exposure. The best way to do that is minimizing the number of people in the building and maximizing inter-personal distancing. If in the opinion of OPH inspectors the compliance of staff and exhibitors with the following is inadequate, their remedy may be as severe as terminating the cluster. Therefore, the clubs must institute a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for failure to comply. Penalty for violation may be expulsion from the site and a disciplinary hearing via video- or tele-conference at a later date. American Kennel Club Certification Permission has been granted by the American Kennel Club for the holding of these events under American Kennel Club rules and regulations. Gina M. DiNardo, Secretary To find out about event cancellations, call the AKC Event Cancellation Hotline (877) 252-3229. WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2020 4 WINTER BLAST CLUSTER, DECEMBER 2-6, 2020 1. GUIDELINES: CDC, PA-DoH, and OPH safety guidelines will be followed. These include: a. Masks must be worn over nose and mouth 100% of the time while indoors except for brief drinks or in designated eating areas. Guidance on acceptable masks and how to wear them can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/about-face-coverings.html Gaiters, bandanas, and face shields are considered insufficient. Exceptions will be granted in accordance with Section 3 of the PA-DoH mask order. b. Avoid shaking hands, hugging, or other physical contact. Avoid touching dogs that are not your responsibility. Maintain a minimum 6ft distance from all people outside of your household. c. Wash hands as frequently as possible (hourly is best) for at least 20 seconds. If hand washing is problematic, use hand sanitizer. d. Prepare to be self-sufficient. Bring personal supplies of hand sanitizer, masks, and pens. e. Perform a periodic self-assessment for symptoms of acute respiratory illness consistent with COVID-19 – such as fever, cough, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, vomiting or diarrhea, new loss of taste or smell, and/or shortness of breath – that is not explained by another medical or allergic condition. 2. OPH POLICIES that exceed PA-DoH policies for events conducted at the Expo: a. The PA-DoH recommended travel quarantine is MANDATORY for people attending these events. In effect, for the 14 days prior to the event, no time of significance may be spent in any of the states identified by PA- DoH on the list found here: https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/Travelers.aspx b. The COVID ALERT PA smartphone app should be installed upon arrival and left active during and subsequent to the event. More information is available at https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/disease/coronavirus/Pages/COVIDAlert.aspx 3. CHECK IN: All persons entering the building for the first time each day must use a check-in station to turn in their completed COVID-19 Agreement (see next page), verify they are symptom free, conduct a temperature check, and receive a wristband to allow re-entry. Showing a prior day’s wristband will be considered proof that an Agreement has been submitted. 4. FACILITY: Access to and use of the building will be limited much more than in prior years. Please adapt your plans accordingly. a. The cluster is closed to the general public.
